This arrived better than expected. It’s the nicest standalone waste bin that I’ve ever used. The bags fit well and are easy to put in. The full bags come out easily. The foot pedal works nicely and the lid is very quiet and effective. It’s attractive as a steel can goes. It has a compartment to hold more bags but after we used the ones that came with it, we just use the standard kitchen size bags from the store. After moving from a home with a hidden can in the cabinet, hubby wasn’t too thrilled that we were going back to a stand-a-lone trash can again. It seems you never have room for them and it’s never in a convenient place when you find room. And they are usually pretty ugly. But we both really like this one.

This is my second time ordering this can. The older one is still in perfect condition - I needed an additional one for outside. It is nice and neat - very easy to switch bags. This comes with it's own special bags but you can use the regular 13 gallon bags from the store. There is no bulky inner bin to pull out and replace. It looks great and stays clean. It does not rust. It just makes my everyday life easier. I never thought I's rave about a trash can, but this is the best.

I never knew a trash can could be beautiful until I purchased this product. Although it is pricey, I was thankful to have gotten it on sale. It is very sturdy and well-designed. The lid opens and closes slowly, which I think will help it last longer. The size is just right, and I appreciate the trash bag storage compartment located inside the trash bin. I also like that it came with an air freshener pod.

After over 7 years and having saved my life, the last Simple Human kitchen trash can needed to be replaced. We LOVE the dispenser for the bags and this can is even better than the last one! The bags fit snuggly and are heavy duty. We could not be more pleased. (YES! The old can saved my life. The distance between our refrigerator and the wall across from it is 5 ft. I slipped on a very slippery waxed floor in socked feet and fell looking at the refrigerator with my back to the wall where we had the trash can. Had the can not been there, and broken my fall, my neck would surely have snapped when I landed. I took the dents out and we kept that trash can for years until the lid opening mechanism finally broke.)

I was looking for a decent looking trash can... Not even kidding I have gotten so many compliments on this trash can. Even came with bag refills to try which are great but can't beat Sam's/Costco prices for 200 trash bags. It did also come with a scent pod that has a designated spot built in I will be buying refills. Trash can always smells great (never thought I would say that)! Highly recommend this product and all SimpleHuman products I got the papertowel roll holder and it is awesome, I never would have thought twice about such simple products but they do feel luxury for a fairly reasonable price!

I would never admit how much I spent on this trashcan but it was worth it. It looks clean, and actually elegant in my kitchen and the soft close feature is great. It says it has a smudge-free finish but my kids managed to put fingerprints all over but they wipe away easily - and now that you can't just lift the lid, you have to use the foot pedal, my kids don't touch it much. The first one I ordered did not have the soft close, it would fall fast and sometimes do a soft close at the bottom but not all the time. I normally don't like the hassle of returns, but I did return/request a new one and so glad I did. It's very roomy and keeps odors locked in. The Simple Human bags are awesome - big, thick and durable but also super expensive. After using a few I decided to put one of my store bought bags over the Simple Human bag just in case it tears to avoid leaks. So far so good. The store bought bags for 13 gallons fits this 14.5 trashcan, you just have to stretch it slightly at the top to fit over the rim and don't fill it to the max. I may buy a pack of the Simple Human bags eventually but honestly the others work just fine and you only notice when you're putting on and taking off. I feel like I'm saving money and that in itself will pay for the actual trash can. The one con would be that it does slide. The pressure of stepping on the foot pedal causes the trashcan to slide each time and depending on where it's located can be a nuisance. I have it against the side of my island and the counter-top sticks further out so if the trashcan is sitting against the island completely the lid will bang against the island counter top. I just have to pull it away every now and then - but not a huge inconvenience.

After frustrated with several replaced failed linkages on spendy battery power “touch free” units this was a simple mechanical solution worth the money. Would give it 5 if I knew it would last….I think it will. Sturdy and attractive.

Best trash can I bought. I wasn’t sure about the quality because I had read some reviews of dints and bends but mine came really nicely packed and looks and performs amazing as well. I try it out with placing trash inside and it holds a lot. I place my feet on the lid opening and it opens very smoothly and it works nicely as well we don’t have animals but I’m pretty sure that the can’t get into my trash. It doesn’t weight a lot. Love it also it has an odor pod that you can invest on Amazon or through directly to the company but I would just get them on Amazon. It smells really nicely. Also comes with a refrigerator reminder for bags. My new beautiful trash can love it 🥰

Comme toute chose, si l'on souhaite acquérir quelque chose d'esthétique, durable, facile à utiliser, il faut mettre le prix... Cette poubelle est certes chère mais contrairement à d'autres elle répond aux précédents critères. Il s'agit d'une acquisition pour de très nombreuses années et non du jetable en plastique (pensons à notre planète). Les sacs de la marque, eux aussi plus chers que dans le commerce, s'adaptent parfaitement et sont effectivement d'une grande solidité. En plusieurs mois d'utilisation, je n'ai eu aucune fuite liquide dans le fond de ma poubelle ni de sac qui se déchire quand on les retire, ce qui est fort appréciable. Pourtant, je la charge au maximum. Je vous conseille de les acheter en grande quantité afin de bénéficier d'un prix plus attractif à l'unité (sur Amazon ou sur le site du constructeur). La conception en inox permet un nettoyage facile, attention toutefois à ne pas utiliser le grattoir de votre éponge afin de ne pas la railler. Avec cette poubelle, vous n'aurez plus de honte à la laisser apparente. Aucune odeur à déplorer (sauf quand on l'ouvre évidemment). Le petit plus est l'emplacement pour ranger vos sacs. Pour résumé, il s'agit d'un achat que je ne regrette vraiment pas et que je conseille sans hésitation.

Bought this because the lower models from this company available at stores in Canada suck... this one is about the same price as a crappy one they sell in stores here... but is 100x better. Its beautiful, twice the build strength of my last one that only survived 1.5 years.... comes with 10 yr warranty, works smoothly, has liner storage, just great. I feel richer, like a fancy person, for having this in my kitchen. **UPDATE** this thing works great and is really tough. Months of use, it keeps the smells away way better than my last one and the foot mechanism is very strong.

Like some other reviewers, I never thought I'd be reviewing a bin but.... I gave in and splurged out on an expensive bin for the kitchen, the place where a bin gets used most often. I have an engineering background so understood better design, engineering and materials cost more but was always reluctant for a bin of such expense until I had enough of buy cheaper to medium priced ones that would last around a year or two, that would start fail before that and basically I'd keep using them whilst broken or misfunctioning with sheer frustration but not this time. Many of the people I knew either had Brabantia, which can cost a lot too, of good quality but I didn't like the designs and function, it didnt work for me but I knew why they cost so much. They worked, worked well. I wanted function and form and this model fits perfectly, literally. I wanted a rectangular to square shape as it's more efficient and would fit better under our kitchen space, under the countertop space. Had to be foot operated, which I see as more hygienic and functional when both hands are full. The wide foot pedal is a delight, doesn't require too much pressure and the soft close is great, altogether a different mechanism to all the pedal bins I've had (several in a few years). The weight, although slighly light with a slight wobble at first, it doesnt slide about on the quarry tiled floor as the rubber feeted base grips and over time when it stats to fill up theres no wobble at all. The design is classy and chic, with a nice matt sheen, quality stainless steel body and truly fits the part. I'm not going to say it's life changing but I feel assured it will last several years easily, with the company standing behind it with a 10 year guarantee, that to me is worth the cost in the grand scheme of things. Enough said.

Started off looking for a stainless steel pedal bin. One that wouldn't rust with time and was easy to clean if the bin liners broke or of the eventual case of cleaning a smelly bin. Couldn't find anything that was of decent quality. I came across this bin and listing and considered it for about a month before taking the plunge. Was trying to decide whether the price was justified. After purchasing it arrived extremely quickly with reasonable postage costs at the time. It came with 10 simplehuman bin liners as well. I'm extremely happy with my purchase, the quality is faultless, it's easy to clean, looks appealing (it's like a feature now instead of just the kitchen bin) and holds about a week's worth of rubbish for my household. Definitely worth every cent.
