Cygolite Hotshot Pro 200 & 150 Lumen Bicycle Taillight - great general taillight for price
This model, like other Cygolite products, is dependable, easy to use, has good battery life (although takes a bit long to recharge) and is bright enough for very good night and day visibility. It has lots of useful patterns and even at 150 lumens is visible during the day. Not as bright as the next dual light model up, but for the price point is awesome. All our bikes have Cygolite products front and rear of different generations. They are dependable, take a beating, stand up to weather and have had good customer service in the past when a battery hasn't stood up (head light in a 2500 lumen model). They are also easily removed when you want to use them when ambulatory or just to prevent theft.

Worked great for this casual cyclist
I'm a casual city bike rider. This light is perfect for me. Attached to frame on one side of the rear wheel. Easy to mount. Easy to use. Easy to charge. Mine lasts about 3 weeks between charges.

The Best Out There!!!
It never ceases to amaze me how many people complain about products, when they're too lazy to read instructions or visit a company's website. Who would try to fit a "round" mount onto an aero seat post? All you have to do is look at the pics (attached) right from the Cygolite website. If you have an aero seat post, you need the version with the flexible rubber mount, not the hard mount. Someone else claimed it has a narrow beam. Just look at this pic from our security camera. Does that look narrow to you? "The hard mount version doesn't grip the seat post very well." WTF! This mount is absolutely rock solid. I could ride through a tornado and this light wouldn't fall off. Again, they did something wrong and now they're trying to blame Cygolite. Finally, someone else said it was too bright for anyone following you. "Steady" or "Zoom" modes were designed specifically for that situation. If you took the time to read the instructions and research multiple sources, you'd know these things. Here's the bottom line: This light is super bright! Combining the various modes and flash tempo, it's almost infinitely adjustable Has long run-times Charges quickly Has Adaptive Flashโข that senses ambient light and automatically adjusts to optimal brightness Is water resistant Is USB rechargeable Has a low battery indicator Is reasonably priced What more could you ask for? Just buy it. You won't be disappointed. For years I used a PlanetBike Superflash. At one time, that was the gold standard. Now, the Hotshot Pro 200 is light years ahead. The major different is the brightness and variety of settings. Now, I use both lights simultaneously.

Just a great taillight option
I have been using Cygolite taillights for many years now and always very satisfied. Great illumination options and long battery life. I recommend these always and have bought some for friends that are new to cycling.

overall good unit
I lost my prior nightrider--fell out of it's mount so had to buy replacement. I went with this unit and I like it better. This unit is VERY bright. The blink patterns can be very noticeable. I like that it holds a charge much longer (docs say up to 10 hours) and I only have to charge it every other ride. I'm not super keen on having to recharge so often though.. my much older unit needed battery replacements about once a year and I didn't have to worry about it otherwise. I do not like that they went standard usb charge port -- i have to flip/fiddle with the cable each time to get it connected. USB-C port does not have that issue. The rubber protector end does not always go in easily and stay in to seal out the water, but well enough. I went with the hard mount... found out that's not fun because you can't look back and see if this unit is on and blinking when riding. It will not rotate it on the seatpost and i threw myself off balance trying to check it and turn the unit on when riding and hit a curb and found myself skidding on the pavement. The hardmount has a screw which just looks ugly and sticks out too far, also not a biggie. When the unit gets caked with mud from the backtire, the buttons and things are have recesses so it's hard to get clean. My first unit died after only about 45 days. The shipper (not amazon) only stuck to a 30 day return and wanted nothing to do with me after that (30 days isn't a very long period of time). They would only defer me to to Amazon, who replaced the bad one (thank you for that, amazon).

Ridiculously Bright!
I have the double light version of this light and fellow bicyclists do not like following me as my light is sooooo obnoxiously bright. This is exactly why you get a tail light...to alert cars coming from behind of your presence. Cars, bicyclists, basically any creature with working eyes cannot miss you. The single version does not disappoint. It's just a smaller version of the double super nova I have on my bike. It's easy to charge, easy to install and has many different light patterns you can choose from. Want to be noticed on your bike? Get this light! PS. I bought the double light version of this light for my brother for Christmas.

Perfect in Every Way
I'm not going to attach a photo, because the listing already has large, high resolution pictures. Rest assured, I absolutely LOVE these Cygolite Hotshot Pro 200 Lumen Bicycle Tail Lights. Having bought 3-4 different headlights, I became frustrated with the terrible quality, weak light, and poor battery life of the tail lights haphazardly packaged with them. Surely, I thought, SOMEBODY makes a high-quality tail light that isn't just an afterthought. Cygolite does. It is hot in Texas, so I ride my bike mostly at night when the heat of the day has subsided. Fast-moving, distracted drivers are dangerous enough without being invisible to them. The Cygolite Hotshot is bright. It gets noticed. Cars see you from far away. I can look over my shoulder and see it lighting up road signs 200 feet away. Settings allow you to adjust the light to blink and dim to your preference. Battery life is excellent. I usually charge it with my headlight, and the Cygolite battery outlasts it every time. Mounting is easy, and it releases quickly with just a touch of the lever. I also bought the Cygolite Hypershot 350. That is a higher-end model, and also an excellent product. You can't go wrong with either one.
