Easy To Apply
It worked well for me and was easy to apply and finish.

great product!
Love how it is purple and cures to white. I use this for model rockets (fillets, making the spiral of the tubes disappear), dilute it a bit to the consistency of cake icing and spread it out, sand smooth with 600 or finer sandpaper. .. then paint.

Easy to use
Love this stuff, goes on pink, dries white. Sands great. I redo old homes and have used many containers of this wood filler. It is my go to. Just make sure to get your lid sealed when done using.

Fills smooth, blends in great
Used this to fix up gouges in trim left by contractors' equipment. Nothing super deep, ranging from the width of a pencil to over an inch in some places. Some trim is pine, other places it's MDF. In both cases this was easy to apply - very smooth, filled the gouges nicely and spread thin across the borders. Took the trim paint well after drying and now you literally can't tell where the damage was.

The best wood filler there is, BUT . . .
I’m a master carpenter. I work exclusively on luxury homes ($1 million to $10 million). I have tried every wood filler on the market because I am obsessed with making sure none of my clients can ever find a single nail hole. Elmer’s wood filler is the only one that guarantees they won’t be able to find any.HOWEVER, there are some specific steps you must follow (this is after lots of trial and error):NOTE: This wood filler is a pain in the butt to sand by hand, so I don’t. I routinely have 5,000 or more nail holes to fill, and it would be impossible to sand all of them by hand. This wood filler dries pretty hard (which is also one of its biggest strengths), so I use an orbital sander on a low speed with 220 grit sandpaper. Do not sand them by hand - you will get a much better result with an orbital sander.Step #1: Fill all of the nail holes with just enough wood filler to fill the holes. Once the wood filler has dried, quickly go over the holes with the orbital sander.Step #2: Fill all of the holes a second time. Do not skip this step. This time, overfill all of the nail holes slightly. This time, allow the wood filler to dry overnight. Sand all of the holes again with the orbital sander. Take some time to make sure everything is sanded smoothly.Step #3: Paint (spray, if possible) everything with an oil or shellac-based primer. Do NOT use a water-based primer.Step #4: Paint whatever top coat you want - latex, oil, etc.If you follow these steps, I guarantee you will not be able to find any of your nail holes. If you skip any of the steps, you will likely be able to find the nail holes. This is not the easiest wood filler to use, but it is the best if you are obsessed with not being able to find any nail holes like my clients are.

Still a good product. Does the job!
Noticed, right away, just like the peanut butter, ice cream, and jelly that I recently purchased, this Elmer WoodFiller container is about 3/4's full. Companies are trying to make more money by putting less in the containers they use. Greedy!
