Absolutely fine.Was a bit worried about losing the great sound of my sennheisers I had on my old phone jack input, but it's actually better if anything.

Bought to use with Samsung Galaxy S6 to keep using my old faithfull Bose Quiet Comfort 2 headphones as the tablet has no 3.5mm jack socket. Followed advice to assure device has DAC and decided to go for this item as opposed to something a bit more bulky and pricey circa £26 range and bought this instead as a risk reward action. I can say it pays off and the item works and the sound quality is good too. Only minor point is when the noise goes quiet or silent there is a kind of background white noise. Not hugely noticeable and may be the poor quality of what I am listening to or the headphones being quite old. The Samsung has excellent sound and speakers so I am happy to put up with the white noise for those odd moments when using headphones. Glad it works and would have been more upset at spending £26 and having the above minor niggle. Arrived quickly and the silver colour matches well.

Does the job very well

On discovering my top of the range Samsung android phone was unable to receive an external jack, I guessed that there must be a connector... and for quite a modest price, I discovered there was indeed a device which would enable me to connect my earphones. I was concerned initially about reports I'd read concerning the health issues of using remote earphones. I'm sure some are more sophisticated than the ones I used previously, but the difference in sound.quality, now that my old Sony plug in, in ear phones have been brought back into use, is a delight. Amazing!! Sometimes old tech trumps new tech. One of the best Amazon buys of the year!

Good audio quality. However, not suitable when listening to audio with 3-4 seconds of silence between sounds. The DAC enters a standby mode, and when it resumes, it cuts off the first 1/2 second of audio, approximately. Just something to consider if you plan on using this adapter to listen to some guided meditation or an audiobook with pauses.
