Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Beautiful book. - Wonderful quality of prints. Expect to find them really useful as my skills improve. Review: Learning to draw. - This book is amazing ! I had this book for a while before I actually started to make full use of it. I am an amateur artist learning to draw and am now making my way through all the drawings of the casts and copying them as I draw. I am surprised at how well my drawings are turning out and if something doesn`t look right I rub it out with a putty rubber. It is very difficult to draw the human hand and I am persevering with that at the moment. I`m really thrilled with this book ! The most useful drawing book I`ve ever had ! The images shown are the drawings I have attempted . They are not photos of the drawings from the book. I couldn`t draw before. This book has helped me to draw. Thank you Gerald Ackerman !

Very happy!
With small steps each week you will be able to see your skills developed! It is not just copying the plate but it is studying the plate and reproducing the drawing! I would recommend this book to anyone that want to bring their potential out!

Not much insight
The book is good to practice parts of anatomy, but lacks useful information of practice. It is a lot of money for a small return. There are other books that are more instructive

Great book, poor condition
The content is 5 stars. Great material historically and academically. The print quality is amazing and illustrations are very high quality. The book itself however arrived damaged. Corners are dented, some pages have oily fingerprints. For the price that it is, I'd have expected better condition.

This drawing book is superb. I have a very hard time following art instruction books as they tend to be overdone with the commentary making the instruction hard to follow. this course is different. The brevity of the instructive commentary is unique and succinct, and it is very effective. Rather than taking up much of your time reading instructions for each of the images you draw through the course, the authors give you a general set of rules to follow in every drawing at the beginning then most of the course is copying the images from the book using these guidelines. You start with very simple line drawings that increase in complexity incrementally as you push through the course. The method for beginning with simply body parts, then moving to the human head, then to the torso, then adding it all together create a solid base of knowledge in completing full realism drawings, and it is very effective at teaching you modelling. instead of attempting to show you everything at once, it builds the skills you need to complete full drawings by creating building blocks that serve as a foundation. Once that foundation is in place you will be able to draw almost anything from life. Highly recommend if you do not have the means to enter art school or if you just want to learn the best methods for realism.
