Needed a little sledge and didnt want to spend too much. This worked perfect for my needs and im happy it didnt cost too much.

The feel and size

I am remodeling a utility shed, adding half-log siding to the exterior. I bought this hammer to support pounding 6" spikes through the half-logs, into the 2x4 framing. The hammer does an excellent job at driving the large spikes through the logs. The handle is long enough to give strong head swing-weight force to the hammer, generating power through the blow. The hammer appears constructed of quality materials, is quite heavy to swing, when pounding above your shoulders, but it does the job. I love the hammer for its performance and durability and highly recommend it.

This hammer is certainly the best quality hammer I’ve ever owned. In fact, it’s something of a heavy beast. Being a bit of a weakling myself, I can see I might struggle to knock nails in with this (I really need two hands for a good swing), but it’s absolutely perfect as a mini–sledgehammer or for anything that demands some serious wallop. Overall, I think this hammer is excellent value! You can feel the quality in your hands. Ultimately this thing is built for knocking the stuffing out of heavy duty objects and it excels at this! Very happy, highly recommended.

I needed two different hammers and the cost of two of them were more than buying this set of 5. They are solidly built, I expect to have them forever.
