Nice Compact Unit That Works as Advertised
I've had my SPT dishwasher for more than a month now (I wanted to wait till I had a nice sampling of uses before leaving a review), and I can offer feedback that prospective buyers will perhaps find valuable. I had read quite a number of reviews here before purchasing my unit, and the smattering of complaints did give me pause. But here's what I've learned. Some reviewers said that their units arrived damaged. I'd imagine this is the fault of the delivery services, but, thankfully, mine came in perfect condition. Second, one or two reviewers complained that a hose leaked from the connection at the bottom back of the dishwasher. After having attached the hoses (which is part of the normal set-up), I can say with confidence that this is no doubt because the reviewers did not make sure they included the necessary washers when making the connections. In particular, one hose has its washer taped in place so it won't fall out of the connector, which it can do VERY easily. So it you're not careful when removing the tape, you can lose the washer and not realize it. The bottom line is that the connections are extremely simple; I cannot see any reason why there'd be leakage if the hoses are connected properly. And my unit is perfectly water-tight. Next, quite a number of reviewers mentioned that the dishwasher didn't dry the dishes well. I had the same experience INITIALLY, but then learned something: The detergent you use is of the utmost importance. I initially bought bargain, no-frills dishwasher detergent, and it appeared to work well, though the dishes didn't dry well, and on one occasion the detergent didn't wash off completely. I was concerned that maybe the unit wasn't really doing the job, but then a friend told me to try a certain high-end detergent pod (I won't mention its name because I don't want anyone to think my purpose is to advertise it). Wow, I was shocked at the difference. Not only did the detergent rinse away perfectly and leave the dishes and glasses crystal clear and shiny, but, to my surprise, they also dried wonderfully. The only exception are plastic containers (such as Chinese take-out ones); they don't dry well, but, then again, SPT says in the manual I believe that plastic won't dry well. The bottom line is that — and this apparently is true with all dishwashers — you must get a quality detergent. As for the unit in general, it rolls easily and is perfect for a small apartment such as mine; it fits in my tiny kitchen. The unit comes with a faucet adapter that fits on any standard faucet. It's easy to attach, and it provides much better water flow than my old faucet aerator. The hose adapter is easy to attach and detach from it, too. The dishwasher has a number of different settings and is easy to program. It does a very good job, and I'm happy to no longer have to do dishes manually. The unit's capacity is what you might expect from a smaller washer. I live alone and 24 hours' worth of dishes fit in the machine. So it's good for one or MAYBE two people, and that's what it's made for. Now I'll just have to see how long it lasts (you never know with products today). But so far, so great.

Honest impression Dishwasher
I bought this dishwasher because I am almost never home, doing it by hand uses a lot of water. Did I mention that I'm lazy when I get home? build quality from the outside is okay it looks nice But the sheet metal is thinner than what you find on a refrigerator or stove. So in other words kind of delicate. The LED display that shows the time remaining is visible when the door is opened, But when you close it you have to look between the door and the frame to see it which is kind of annoying. The inside frame is good, spacious for its size. from top to bottom is the same size as a built-in dishwasher, from side to side is about 4 to 6 inches shorter then a built-in dishwasher. The top and bottom metal racks have a durable coating on them . my only concern about the inside is that the top rack has a spray arm that completely detaches from the base in the back when you pull it out (which is normal). I wonder how long it will last before I have to replace the seal . if you follow the instructions that is given, it is pretty much straight forward and easy to install. the one thing that really surprised me. the sink attachment that they put in with it..it has threads on the outside and threads on the inside. it makes it a more versatile install pending on your sink faucet . overall I was impressed.the outer build quality was decent .The inner build quality was good. I got this a week ago. I have used it 4 times and the functionality was excellent.as for the price it's a little much but if I had went to a competitive store it would have cost me a $150 more. Six years after my first review. Still works great. I use it about 2 to 3 times a week. My only Complaint so far, After 6 years of use. Because I drain the hose after every wash so it doesn't leak onto the floor. The The hose does come loose after 10 to 15 watches. So I have to tighten the hose once a week.

Great for small spaces!
I have had this dishwasher for about a month and a half, and so far, I am so happy to be doing less dishes by hand (my water bill has gone down, too!) Biggest pros - it's quiet, it gets the job done, it uses significantly less water than hand-washing. Biggest cons - the spacing of the racks is... odd, which makes it difficult to put in larger dishes (think baking sheets), and the hose/coil that connects to the dishwasher and your sink doesn't recoil into the machine, and gets loose if you move the machine around frequently enough. I will say - I couldn't find a lot of information about what works and doesn't work for people, so I wanted to give some tips that have worked for me so far: - Once you have hooked in the water cords to the dishwasher, check them for tightness at the base of the machine before every use, especially if you (like me) have to move the dishwasher from one place to another each time you use it. The screws do loosen over time, and water will drip onto your floors! Not a fun cleanup. - Use liquid detergent. I tried pods, I tried powder tablets and liquid only detergent, and the liquid stuff works the best. Sometimes, the pods won't fully dissolve - same with powder tablets. - Do not put anything large on the left bottom-side of the dishwasher. For my machine, it has kept the soap dispenser from opening. ACK! - Dry the soap dispenser prior to every use. It has helped ensure better release of soap in the next cycle. - Use a cup/bowl to empty out the water hose after disconnecting from your faucet. I like to wiggle the hose around a bit to get as much out of the hose as possible without disconnecting the hose from the machine. This part feels like a major design flaw with the machine, but I'll take doing that over washing a whole load of dishes! - For the best clean, use the longer-timed programming (I use at minimum the program that goes for 2.5 hrs)
