Great meter at a reasonable price
Great find. It just plain works. Being able to measure both AC & DC current is a real plus.

Seems like a good value
First impressions after 2 weeks of use. This meter does almost everything I need. Voltage and resistance readings are spot on. Capacitance readings seem accurate down to 10 pf. AC RMS voltage readings seem accurate. The ability to hold peak readings is a nice feature. The main limitation is current readings. AC current readings seem reasonably accurate (of course you need to place only 1 wire in the clamp. However DC current readings (in the 100 mA range) were inconsistent even after nullify out the stray magnetic fields with the "zero" button. Unfortunately there is no direct way to measure mA currents using the probes. (In one case I just put a 1 ohm resistor in series with the circuit and measured the voltage. As long as the current is less than 1 A, a 1 W resistor should suffice.) The auto power off function is nice, but the only way I found to turn the meter back on is to turn the function knob to "off" and restart. I found the thermocouple useful for checking the temperature of a power resistor. (I had no idea that they could hit 130 C while operating within their rated power!) All in all, I would recommend this unit for an advanced hobbyist.

Great meter but terrible test leads
This Kaiweets HT206D clamp multimeter is great - I love it. For $48 it is a best buy. {{It competes well with my several hundred dollars Fluke multimeter. My biggest issue with Fluke is their probes are outrageously priced, but their meters are excellent.}} I have tested all functions, and it works very well. The clamping ammeter is a real plus. This is now my go-to meter for everyday projects. I like the fact that it uses two AAA batteries. I hate rechargeable anything and avoid them like the plague they are –always discharged when you need them most and you need to wait to recharge them. Not this meter – just slip in two new AAA batteries and you are good to go. Half the leads (mainly the fine pointed ones) that come with the meter, however, are crap and so is the optional Kaiweets 23-piece multimeter test lead kit. These have connectivity issues with either high ohms or ohms that continuously jump all over the place. They are held in place via a crimp and the conductivity is awful. The Kaiweets vendor replaced the 23-piece kit for me, but the replacement had the same conductivity issues. Save yourself time and aggravation, get a good lead set for this. I wasted a few weeks thinking the meter was bad when it was bad probes. These are the probes I ultimately settled on as excellent for this Kaiweets clamping multimeter: the Snakol 22-Piece Multimeter Test Lead Kit and the Bionso 25-Piece Multimeter Leads Kit - both at about the same price as the malfunctioning Kaiweets test probe kit. The main difference is the Snakol has longer probe handles which I like. I am using both sets, however. All the probes in these two sets have great conductivity and no issues and they fit the Kaiweets HT206D clamp multimeter. They give stable readings of 0-to-0.1-ohms. The main issue with these, however, is the probes need to be screwed into place with a wrench or needle nose pliers making changing probes more difficult. On the other hand, this is likely why they give such good conductivity. However, you can buy multiple sets so you can permanently set up the probes you use most frequently. Some of the other probes in the set are the plug-in type so they be changed easily and these have excellent conductivity as well. I find these two kits give me all the probes I need and more.

Awesome meter
Excellent multipurpose digital meter. Easy to use. Great display. I used it to check the parasitic battery draw on my car. The clamp on amp meter read below 50 mili amps at times. I found the min/max function to be very useful. The zero reset function is a must when reading current this low. Awesome feature! I wish it had a way of monitoring longer than the auto ten minute shutoff feature which saves the batteries. Right on accuracy with my other digital meter reading DC voltage. I highly recommend this meter.

Very Versatile and Solidly built
Solid build and pretty easy to use. Got it for the clamp amperage which works well. Although it is auto-ranging, it initiates clamp current mode in DC where, at least for me, the normal measurements are AC. Not hard to change the selection, but it seems like the wrong default mode. Likewise, for measuring voltage, one needs to cycle between DC, AC and HZ by pushing a button. Pay attention to the mode, otherwise you'll not be getting the measurements you expect. I recommend it though - it does do a lot of different measurements, and it's a good versatile tool for home repairs. Update 7/23/25: More I use this, the more I like it. The ability to check if an outlet is live without using contact probes works well and is very convenient. I tried the temperature probe, and it was fairly accurate although the specs were less kind. The button labelling and positioning on the device is confusing, but one gets used to it. Note it won't measure low currents through the probes, so it is not a subsitute for a electronics multimeter if you are a electronics hobbyist.

I have mostly Fluke multi-meters, my oldest and the one I still use most is over 35 years old and still works perfectly. Before I retired I could justify £350 plus for each of these and they have paid for themselves many times over. But now when I needed an amp-clamp to check the integrity of glow plug circuits on my motor-home I had the choice of another new Fluke, to get a auto electrician in, or to buy this meter. Two of these options were very expensive one was not. Guess which one I chose. The manufacturing quality of this meter is not great but the cost was so low that had it only lasted one job it would have been worth it, although I do not as rule advocate buying to throw away. Actually I have used it a lot, partly because its small size makes it easy to get the amp clamp in small spaces. It is nowhere near as substantial as a Fluke but its not a twentieth of the price. So there has to be compromises somewhere. The plastic is quite flimsy and I assume the electronic components are probably not grade 1. As someone who regularly used to drop his meters off buildings and into running engines I don't believe it would stand up to heavy usage simply because its not armoured in the same way. And again because of the thinner plastics I would be wary of using it on higher amperage's,. But so far not only has it worked but it has worked well. So if you do not need a professional grade instrument that actually requires significant investment then I have no reason not to recommend this item.
