Review: So this was awesome - So I did not have high expectations for this book only because the Cinderella tale was not my favorite Disney story and theres been so many rewrites. But I was pleasantly surprised by this alternate ending. I also loved how the original story was alluded to even if vaguely. I just thought this story gave a better lesson than the original in what it takes to get your happy ending.

So I did not have high expectations for this book only because the Cinderella tale was not my favorite Disney story and theres been so many rewrites. But I was pleasantly surprised by this alternate ending. I also loved how the original story was alluded to even if vaguely. I just thought this story gave a better lesson than the original in what it takes to get your happy ending.

I absolutely loved This is Love by Elizabeth Lim. It starts off feeling familiar to the original Cinderella story, but then slowly transforms into something completely its own—and I was hooked the entire time. The adventure, the heroism, the magic… it all felt so whimsical and emotional while still staying true to the heart of Cinderella. I especially loved the hidden-in-plain-sight romance woven throughout the story. There’s something so satisfying about a love story that’s been there all along without the characters fully realizing it. Since Cinderella has always been my favorite princess, this book felt extra special to me. It captured everything I love about fairytales while giving me a fresh story that still honored the original. Magical, heartfelt, adventurous, and romantic in all the best ways. ✨
