Cute and working well
A nice, unobtrusive and reliable kitchen scale. Very useful function of tare and (for us used to grams, not ounces) of the choice between the two weighing systems.

Worth DOUBLE the money
Excellent scale, even for double the money. The tare feature works like most others, but the three real goodies are: ... the FOUR MINUTE before auto-cutoff. Not like the Taylor scale I had that cut off after one minute of nonuse. It was always cutting off on me before I was finished with it. ... and NO DEFAULT SCALE It's the same as when you last turned it off (if you were using grams, the next time you turn it on it's still in grams, OR ounces at OFF then it's ounces at ON). Tap the button to change g/oz on the fly. ... AND it holds A FULL ELEVEN pounds (5kg). I put a bag of flour on it, set tare, and scoop out until it reads xx-ounces (virtually impossible with a 6# scale). Yeah, I was a chef for many years and more interested in utility over aesthetics in my equipment. I buy flour in 5# or 10# bags now instead of 50# or 100#. I used to have to have several scales -- one for portions and and one for weighing things like yeast and salt, and bigger ones for things like flour and meats. Now 11# is sufficient and this is still accurate enough for yeast and salt. ... Okay, so it's plastic instead of yuppie glass and chrome. It's accurate and well designed -- not heavy, temperamental, or hard to clean. It just works. ... Oh, and it doesn't use strange batteries (regular old AA batteries so you don't go into conniptions when you need replacements)

Very nice!
Having grown up with the regular spring coil scale I didn't think much about getting a digital one until I was diagnosed with Diabetes. Then how much food weighed became very important to me. After checking all the scales out with price included the reviews of the Escali scale was the best I've seen. After having it a few weeks I wish I had bought one long ago. This scale is so easy to use. Want to use a plate to put your food on but not have to figure out the weight of it included? Put the plate on, turn it on and it starts the scale at zero. Want to weight things out separately but on the same plate with everything else still on it? Hit the on off switch for a second and it zeroes out again and lets you keep on weighing. The other button lets you go from grams to pounds and ounces to just ounces. It's lightweight, you can store it in a drawer, batteries are commonplace AA's and it's easy to clean and it can weigh anything from .01 of an ounce up to eleven pounds. For twenty-seven dollars it's a sweet deal. Update - March 30, 2010 So from the date you can see I've had this scale about three years. I had to tape the battery closure on but this is a wonderful scale. Haven't had to change the battery yet and it get's used by everyone in the house, I use it so much for cooking that I don't know what I did without it. It cleans easily and it has always worked. By far one of the best things I've purchased, especially for the price. You don't need the fancy stuff, this will do it just as well.

Just buy it! It's great!
I bought this scale for soap making about 4 years ago, thinking I wouldn't use it for much else, but I use it all the time! It is small and fits right in the space on top of the microwave beneath the cabinets. It is accurate, reliable, cute and non fussy. I LOVE that it does not auto-tare when you lift off your container, and it doesn't shut itself off in the 20 seconds it takes you to go across the kitchen to open a new bag of flour or something. I used my mom's after owning and using this one for a while, and hers did both those things and it drove me CRAZY. It made me realize just how great this one is! Some things to note: - Do not use this thing near the microwave when it is on, of the numbers will go all crazy. - When i am measuring tiny tiny amounts of things, like essential oil for that soap making, if i add the drops too slowly it won't register them. It will stay at zero even after I am sure I have a few grams in there, and when I remove that bowl, put on a new one and tare it, pour all the oil in from the previous bowl, I will see my 3 or 4 grams. This thing is awesome. Easy to use, easy to keep clean, and the battery life is tremendous. I don't think I have ever replaced them in 4 years, and I use the scale several times a week!

Decent scale
Nice and accurate. My old scale had trouble with the grams increments - just was not as sensitive as I needed it to be. This one is sooo much better for small amounts. The power button is a little annoying but everything else seems to be fine. It is plastic and feels rather flimsy compared to the older scale I replaced it with but it seems to work fine and still looks like new.

Dependable, affordable scale
I started my sourdough journey several years ago. I was convinced early on for the need to weigh ingredients. I read many of excellent reviews for this affordable scale. It hasn't let me down in 2 years, and I now find myself measuring servings for so many other foods. I'd be lost without it now.

Simple to Use
This is a great kitchen scale. Most of my recipes are in weight and this scale is perfect. Accurate, goes up by small increments, lightweight and looks good. Does what it is supposed to do. Treat it well and it will last forever

Love it!
I needed a scale to weight my food during a fitness challenge. Really surprised how easy to use this one is and accurate. I can tare it with a ceramic bowl and then weight my ingredients. No need to use something light despite being a digital scale. Simply love it!

Simple and Practical
Love that this scale has hit the floor a couple of times and still works. Also, takes up little space on a cluttered benchtop.

Prima weegschaal
