The book has easy to understand lessons that the kids enjoy and it also has reviews over what they have learned off and on throughout the book. I would recommend this book for anyone who thinks their kids just need a little practice with spelling, or for home schooling parents like us.

Great spelling book!
I am a mother of two who is currently home schooling my eight year old twin girls. This book is really great. My girls do really well in spelling and I have tried a lot of 2nd grade spelling books but they were just too easy for them. I bought this book half way through their second grade year to give them more of a challenge and we really love it. They actually have to study for their spelling tests! The book has easy to understand lessons that the kids enjoy and it also has reviews over what they have learned off and on throughout the book. I would recommend this book for anyone who thinks their kids just need a little practice with spelling, or for home schooling parents like us.

Great but not perfect
The content overall seems great. Admittedly, we had to divert back to the second grade workbook after lesson one, so I can't say too much more at this moment on that. However, one thing I noticed immediately was the strange and terrible placement of the answers. They are included as a strip along the first page of each lesson, non-perforated, so that the student or teacher need to cut it out and use it only as a reference cheat-strip. .... Wow., really?? We fold ours over and I use the folded pages as a guide to quickly find each successive lesson, but as you can see in the picture taken, doing this doubles the width of the book. That's really not a problem for us, as we have enough space on our shelf, but it might pose an issue for a perfectionist. In that case, the best bet would be to cut them as directed and hold them aside. Especially when, as seen in one picture, folding over that strip does not always hide all the lesson answers. One other good thing, it has a spelling word index at the back of the book, which is great if you want to ensure specific words are covered... However, it doesn't detail which page to find each word on, so you'll have to figure that part out yourself. Overall, it seems a great book, but it's not perfect. Still, we kept it and plan to use it for our coursework. I may come back and edit this review at that time if I feel it's needed.

Great learning booklet, helps my daughter as she needs the extra help with spelling, seems to be helpful so far.

Contains the answers on every other page.
If you don’t want your child to see the answers on every 3rd page of the book, then you will have to photocopy some of them, which makes keeping track of the work completed more complicated and you add the photocopying cost to your homeschool budget.
