This made it awkward to slice a boule as it wasn't really long enough. So far, that is the only fault I've found. Both had complained , on numerous occasions about not having any decent sharp knives . Foremost for me I was quality, I most definitely did not want anything made in China!. These knives seemed to fit the bill on all counts. I had bought new knives a few years back when I had a new kitchen fitted. I only paid £60.00 at the time and, have regretted it ever since. They were absolutely rubbish, I reverted back to my old set within a couple of months and, vowed never to buy cheap knives again....lesson learned!. My daughters love them, even sent a video chopping up spuds. Both say how Sharp and easy do use they are. They are self sharpening as well which should be able to very useful. A bit more than I normally spend on Christmas presents. That aside, a very useful quality present which my daughters should hopefully enjoy for years. P.S.
