Review: Absolutely captivating look at Olivia Hussey's life! - I recently finished Olivia Hussey’s autobiography *Girl on the Balcony*, and it was an absolute pleasure to read! The book offers an incredibly honest and heartfelt look into her life, from her early days in acting to the iconic role of Juliet in *Romeo and Juliet*. Olivia's storytelling is captivating—she shares her personal struggles, triumphs, and the complexities of navigating fame at such a young age. What I particularly enjoyed was how open and vulnerable she was about the challenges she faced, both in her career and her personal life. It’s not just a recount of her experiences in Hollywood, but also a deep reflection on her journey as a woman and as an artist. The way she describes her relationships, her mental health struggles, and her pursuit of peace is truly inspiring. Olivia’s writing style is engaging and down-to-earth, making it feel like you're having an intimate conversation with her. I also loved the behind-the-scenes glimpses of her work on some of the most famous films of her career. *Girl on the Balcony* is a powerful and emotional read that gives readers a real sense of who Olivia Hussey is beyond the screen. For fans of Olivia Hussey or anyone who enjoys personal stories of resilience and growth, I highly recommend this book. It’s a beautiful, thoughtful, and inspiring memoir that stays with you long after you finish it! Now that Olivia has passed, it's essential to understand her amazing life! Review: Entertaining - While the book is really interesting and well written , the photos on my Kindle were really minuscule , practically useless, which disappointed me.

An intriguing and interesting read even beyond her experience on Romeo and Juliet
I bought this as a massive fan of the film Romeo and Juliet and was not disappointed! Such a good read, especially if you are a big fan of the 1960’s film as there is quite a few chapters dedicated to the audition process, filming and promotion of the film. What surprised me most was just how interesting and unexpected her whole career and life has been, even is beyond her experience working on this film. Every chapter was so intriguing, entertaining and easy to read. Would definitely recommend!

An Honest and Interesting Autobiography
Thank you to Net Galley, the author Olivia Hussey and the publishers. With apologies for the delay, as demand by many authors and publishers to read their books, seem to always fall behind. An interesting and honest and detailed autobiography. Olivia speaks honestly about her tough life in films but more so in her private life. Reading this book I learned so much about her life the many film greats she worked with and met, through her early life and marriage to Dino Martin. I knew till I read this book about her life in L.A, her tough marriages, her fears, her lack of confidence, her all to easy to trust people. The book starts well for me, I am happy to many autobiographies tell you about their great grandparents, grandparents, parents, and you have read nearly a third of a book and are bored stiff. Here Olivia stories gains pace quickly, and within in a chapter or two we learn about her film career from such a young age, her stage work. The massive casting for her role as Juliet, great stories about the greats, her love of the good old British legends like David Niven, Sir Laurence Olivier, Peter Ustinov, the coldness of Bette Davis, and so much more. This story shows life as a film star is no always as good as you think it is, long days, travelling, leaving children, relationships, Olivia speaks openly about taking film roles for the money. I am sure this is the same for many working actors, who are not on the millions per film. Olivia went through many tough relationships, lost friends, lost homes, turned to religion, fought illness, but came out a better person. An interesting, honest autobiography. Four stars

Excellent
Beautifully written. Couldn't put it down. Wanted more when finished. Highly recommended if you are a fan of Zeffirelli's Romeo & Juliet. Hussey & Whiting (in my opinion) were perfect casting for those roles. They left their mark as Shakespeare's definitive star crossed lovers. Looking out for Whiting's biography now.

The book goes far beyond the Romeo and Juliette's girl. It's a lovely account of a life journey with many interesting and moving episodes and lessons. This is what I like about biographies; one can always get tips about how to deal with situations and emotions regardless of the context or life style. Actors, singers.. we all human at the end of the day. Olivia is a great actress but I feel she's been understimated. True that she probably didn't focus enough on her career or played her cards properly (as she admists) but the little she did had an impact on many people and that's something that not every actor achieves.

I absolutely loved this book and I’m so glad I decided to buy it. I have loved Olivia since I was 14 and never lost the special place in my heart for her. Now, I’m 3 years younger than her, but I still remember how she made me feel when I first saw her. I will always love her. I associate her with a wonderful time in my life. If you are a fan of hers, I highly recommend this book. It is the story of her life. It is extremely well written and has a wonderful flow to it. It’s written as if you can literally hear her speaking the words to you as you read. It was such an easy read, and so enjoyable, that I didn’t want to put it down. It truly captured my attention and I looked forward to when I could get back to reading it! I just finished the book and it makes me a bit sad because it’s the end. That’s how much I enjoyed it. The book only deepened my love and appreciation for Olivia; not just her as an actress, but as a person. You can tell as you’re reading the book that she’s a kind, down to earth, and truly sweet person. Her beautiful spirit really comes through by the things she feels and expresses intermittently throughout the book. I would love to meet her someday, just to convey my appreciation for her.
