Pre-Calculus For Dummies, 2nd Edition

Great addition to a high school pre-cal student. My niece loved it ! Says it helped her understand the pre-cal logic..

I ended up in a high school senior calculus class with a disinterested teacher. Since I do not really like math but need it for my chemistry future, I was required to take calculus. I bought this book with Calculus for Dummies. These two books are getting my through the class. They are easy to understand, not much "Math talk" and they are well organized so I could easily find the topic the teacher was covering in class. Would recommend.

This book has helped me a lot in Pre-Calculus. Good explanations that I can follow. Works well with the Pre-Calculus Workbook for Dummies by the same author. Textbooks often skip over steps in factoring or simplifying, but this one spells out almost all steps, and that can really help when you sit down to do your homework.

After not taking Calculus or Pre-Calc for a few years, this book is perfect for familiarizing yourself with the material. All of the "Dummies" books are good at that to be perfectly honest, so if you need help in math, try this! It explains each concept in detail before explaining each example step by step. There are quite a few types of examples for each topic as well, so a vast majority of content is covered. So far I have used this book to help me through this semester and I got a 98 on the first test, so I definitely recommend this to anyone who struggles in math. And even if you don't I still recommend this book because even moving forward into Calc I & II, math builds on itself so coming back to this in later semesters could be a huge advantage.

Dummies are well known series across the world for traveling for cooking for anything that you want to do especially I like the maze for education pre-calculus was as expected. We bought it for high school student and this is not kind of our first time buying dummies for any so we expected good deal with it and it met our expectation. You can buy dummies for all high school subjects in there of a good quality.

I was somewhat satisfied with the book. It helped occasionally during the semester but I didn't think it was the greatest help. It does explain things well but there were not much example problems to see. In math you need to see problems worked out in order to understand math.

My son has always been good at math and I stopped helping him with his homework years ago. I was devistated when he came home with a D in pre-cal after the first 9 weeks. He got lazy and fell behind. Math is one of those things that is hard to recover from if you fall behind. So I cracked the whip, had him do pre-cal every night, and I bought this book, and the associated workbook, so he would have extra opportunities to practice. He read his text book, did his homework, read the related sections in this book, and did the problems from the workbook. By the end of the next 9-weeks he had a high B. Now he thinks pre-cal is easy and tells me to stop worrying. At the end of third 9-weeks he still has a high B. He should have an A by now, but I'll count my blessings. This book made a difference when we needed help.

A solid resource for either an introduction to calculus or to reacquaint yourself with the subject. It is easy to understand, follow, and it breaks information and examples down nicely. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase and refer to it often.

book arrived on time and in good condition. I bought it to refresh and to learn. it is a must have for those of us really interested in becoming alot better at math and eventually will pursue calculus

I like all the 'For Dummies' books for introduction to new and unfamiliar material. This one in particular helped me as a 32 year adult to brush up on my high school math skills in preparation for a University level calculus course I am taking. I found it very useful. However some practice problems might be useful
