What is the the difference between active lipoic acid and alpha lipioc acid?

The active is an R-lipoic acid, it is a time release but rises blood levels quicker for better blood sugar regulation. The alpha works slower. I'm diabetic and It has helped keep My A1C below 8.0. Hope this helps.

Hi, I hope this message finds you well. Products that claim to be time release in the natural product industry would be a little misleading. I would call products like this delay released because its bound to some minerals to be released over a longer period of time that it would normally do, but they all get dissolved in the stomach. It would be super expensive to create a time released products because it would have to be in a capsule perforated by laser in order to release the product over time.
