Has anyone bought this for a left handed child? How did it go?

I have a child that is left handed that uses it. While the cord is attached to the top right of the toy, it's long enough that my left-hander can use it without any problems. I wish they had put the cord more in the middle, but it really is long enough to use from where it is.

Does it do words or just the childs name?

It does letters and numbers, don't know if it says a child's name. Haven't had it do that.

Does the letters and numbers light up on the screen to trace that letter or number?

I believe the numbers and letters are at the top on the little screen and your child will write that number or letter on the large screen below , I hope this answers your question, thanks
