Streetwise Budapest Map - Laminated City Center Street Map of Budapest, Hungary - Folding pocket size travel map with metro map Map – December 27, 2008

Bought this for first-ever trip to Budapest. Type terribly tiny, and I would have returned it, but thought it might be good "insurance" in case I really got lost! Never did. Why?The hotels (we stayed at the "Castle" Hilton) have plenty of free maps in English for writing on ('you are here, and here's how you get to where you're going'). The front desk folks gave us several over the course of our stay. The free maps worked great. We also used the maps in our very excellent tour book about Budapest.I'm barely 50 and only need glasses for reading. The last thing I want to do when navigating is to whip out reading glasses and squint at a map. I think this map really isn't for tourists--it's for someone visiting and staying in a residential area and needing much more detail than the average tourist. Save your bucks. Prices in Budapest are pretty reasonable, and you'll have plenty of opportunity to spend the money on great meals, and admission to the many great places to see and learn at, and then soak in one of the many Turkish baths in Budapest. Aaaahhhh!Left this map (and the useless one we bought for Vienna) in the room, not bothering to pack them back home. Maybe a resident of Budapest can use it.

I used the map on my recent trip to Budapest, and compared to the other maps, was much better, easier to read, water proof (it rained for half of the trip). I rode my bike everywhere, and had the map on hand to find where I was. I highly recommend it. Granted, it only shows the most centric areas of Budapest, but that was all I needed in my travels.

Will not get folded over in the wind or soaked with rain due to its lamination.The map appears detailed with legible street notations.This should be serviceable for a planned trip. Accuracy assumed, but to be fully vetted at that time.

I LOVE the Streetwise maps! They show the major attractions, hotels, parks,transportation line, etc per city and are very sturdy. I can carry them in my purse and not worry that thy will be crumpled or illegible! I will keep getting these for major cities I visit that I don't know. Can study them PRIOR to my visit and pretty much know the basic layout before I travel there.

Agree with previous comments, awkward layout that requires constant flipping. Also the portion of the city that is shown at a larger scale is not particularly helpful, I would have preferred the whole map be at the same scale. But despite it's drawbacks, the map will still get you from point a to point b.

I won't consider travelling to any major European city without my Streetwise maps, they are the perfect size and fit nicely in my bag. Between the city proper, city detail and metro map parts I have yet to get lost. Well, occasionally I wasn't sure where I was for a bit, but it was all happy wanderings in the end.

Good price!! Good quality!!... I liked, it is small (thin) enough to pack and transport locally or overseas, big enough to be read as a passenger when traveling by train, airplane, bus, or car. I definetley will make my travel information map purchases at this Amazon site!! Also. delivery was before promissed by Amazon.

Most buildings do not have English designations, and the language is most difficult to understand. This guide clearly delineates all significant buildings and sites in English. Easy to carry, and understand. The two most significant tourist areas had enlarged detail maps. Even if you're planning a guided tour this would still be most helpful

This is a smallish (about 2 portait length A4 sheets) laminated map with an indexed street listing and metro map both sparate and superimposed. However, bus & tram routes/stops are not indicated. I feel this map offers little above the maps in various guidebooks.

Once I worked out the way the map works it was very useful
