Universal Orlando 2014: The Ultimate Guide to the Ultimate Theme Park Adventure Paperback – November 7, 2013

This book helped me immensely with my first vacation to Orlando over New Years with three 12 year olds. I read the book and decided to stay at the Hard Rock Resort so that I could benefit from the on-resort perks. In the end, even though the hotel was much more expensive, the savings from being able to get into the parks earlier (it even opened up at 7:00am a few days) was more than worth it, just as the book said. Looking at the weather, we had two days of heat and one day of rain. The advice on what to do on the rainy day was well worth it and we hit the water rides on the hot days. The descriptions of the rides were spot on and ratings were pretty much exactly as I would have rated them. The food advice in the parks were perfect along with the recommendations for CityWalk restaurants. I couldn't find anything in this book that was incorrect and have let other friends use it who loved it as well. If going in non-sweltering heat, I loved wearing the Harry Potter garb purchased the day before with my kids (and the park employees made us muggles feel special) riding the rollercoaster and drinking Butterbeer after. We ditched the gear back at the hotel when we went to lunch. This wasn't just a trip but a vacation that made some very special memories for my family that will last a lifetime. Buy this book and I know you won't regret it!

I have to say, I used a lot of books on my trip last year but this one was used the most. I am extremely happy with my purchase and I think this book is the reason my trip went to smoothly. At Universal, it had tons of tips and tricks and excellent information to help us have a wonderful time. Bring this, a pen and a highlighter and prepare to have the vacation of your life! I was blown away with how accurate this book was. The cover says it best, it IS the best guide! Very very good product!

I bought this book before going to the 2 Orlando Universal Parks with my husband leaving our adult sons at home. We are in our late 50s/early 60s. I read the book before going and looked up several things while down there. I found the book very helpful as I am a person that likes to know things before going. We ate in several of the suggested restaurants and were not at all disappointed.

When I ordered this book, my children and I were planning our Orlando trip. We also ordered a Disney World book. When both arrived, only one book was ever read - the Disney book with vivid color pictures giving detailed descriptions of the attractions. Guess where we visited?This book is dull. I feel bad for saying it, but there are only words - no pictures, so of course the kids had nothing to do with it, and without the kids interest, I hardly even looked at it either.I started to give this book a two star rating, but since it is informative, I bumped it to three.

Perfectly informative and detailed. For first time visitors, this book served to paint the picture of what to expect to see at Universal and provided descriptions of the types of rides at each park. It helped to plan out our trip and was a wonderful resource. It doesn't contain information about Diagon Alley since it hadn't opened when this book was written, but perhaps an addendum could be written to update?

I found this guide helpful. Just finding out I could use my AAA card to get a variety of discounts on all our food and many of our purchases was worth the cost of the book. The explanations of each ride, show and activity were helpful in deciding how to spend our time. I would recommend it.

This is a good book if you're taking a trip to Universal, whether it's your first trip or not. It has all the ins and outs of the parks, as well as info about eating and such. Definitely a great buy.

This book made all the difference at universal studios and saved us money by not having to buy the fast passes.Giving us information on how to make it through the Halloween horror nights, is difficult as it changes every year, but knowing how to avoid 120 minute lines would be beneficial. Too many kids buy the fast passes and ruin for the regular lines!

The guide was essential for Universal Studios. Even though we didn't follow the plan for Universal Studios (due to the new Harry Potter - Diagon Alley which was completed after this was written) it helped me understand a lot of how to make the best of the universal parks.Islands of Adventure - we followed the plan nearly to the letter and got through a lot of rides very quickly, especially early on in the day!I would recommend buying this before you go to Universal!

Found some interesting details in this book. At the price you could not really be unimpressed. would purchase again if needed.

This book gave me all the info I wanted to know about Universal Orlando. Plenty of info on rides etc.

Good, but not up to date, seems more to be written in ‎2013.it needs some updating. Still some good info.
