The most trusted nonfiction series on the market, Eyewitness Books provide an in-depth, comprehensive look at their subjects with a unique integration of words and pictures. Review: Great book! - I have wanted this book for over a decade. It has great photos and discussions to help understand the beginning of human history on Earth. Review: Museum in Print - This book was an excellent introduction to ancient history for my 7 year old. We hung the poster in his bedroom and read 4-6 pages every so often before bed. I explained the DK Eyewitness format to him as a "museum in a book." By the time we finished reading, he was familiar with the general outline of 3000 years of history for the region and was making paper Hittite hats. I'm glad these original hardcover versions are still around- the CD is nice and the poster is priceless.

Book was in near mint condition, wonderful subject matter as always, and I can't wait to try the clip art cd! Fantastic product! Five stars!

an unusual book
It is really not a book, but an illustrated presentation of Mesopotamia from the beginning (9000 BCE?) to about 1300 BC, which was the time Mesopotamia flourished . The chosen figures are outstanding and they illustrate Mesopotamia better than many words. The format is no good for serious students, but this is a very, very good rendition and for what is worth it is five stars. I never regretted reading it.

DK's Mesopotamia
A good starter book on the subject for all ages. For teachers, it comes with a clip are cd and a poster. The images in the book are excellent and the information well organized and readable.

Great introduction
Read this with my kids for a homeschool unit on Mesopotamia - lots of information here! It's a good wide ranging introduction to this time period. Our copy did not come with a cd (and did not show a cd on the cover), which was just fine with us.

Well worth a look
This book is of excellent quality with good pictures. It covers a wide range of historical information in very condensed form. Apart from quick reference, it is more suited to children (of any age) than anyone researching in depth. I did not find the CD of any use - it only contains some clip art.
