I love that there is a journal and note section in the back where he can keep his own journal along the way through the years. What I don't like, is that this is specific to boys only. The information in this book is amazing and should be for boys and girls. I find that the girls book is lacking in what it provides unlike the boys book. It was a lot of fun just to browse through it myself, too. The illustrations are great and there are so many things offered in this book. There's information about the wilderness, survival techniques, animals, stars, how to read signs, and there's also instructions of how to build things and how to play different games. In the back of the book there are stickers and pages designated for notes and sketches. Overall, this is a really fun book, it's interactive, and it's very playful, and age appropriate.
