HIC Kitchen Bar Japanese-Style Double Cocktail Jigger, 18/8 Stainless Steel, For Mixing And Measuring Craft Cocktails, 0.5- To 2-Ounce

With the pandemic keeping everyone home - I decided to up my cocktail game with some actual tools/gear. I like the capacity and ratio - 2 oz to the lip on the tall side / 1 oz to the lip on the short side and the inside measure marks get you 0.5 oz, 0.75 oz (short) and 1.5 oz (tall). The inside marks are scored around the whole interior - but the measurement in only on one side. These marks (well made) are not going to wear away, but they are kind thin and could be a challenge to read for some people (like me - just sayin'). This setup makes it easy to quickly dole out more accurate mixed drinks and I think the more slender/taller Japanese style is easier to hold. 2:1:1 (alcohol, sour, sweet - collins drinks and sours) is like 90% of the drink recipes I make. This supports more traditional single shot measures with the interior marks like: 2:1:1 1.50 fl oz 0.75 fl oz 0.75 fl oz and the "better" measures using the lip - 'cause a double is always better, right? 2:1:1 2.00 fl oz 1.00 fl oz 1.00 fl oz and it handles the other main ratio fairly well. 6:4:3 1.50 fl oz 1.00 fl oz 0.75 fl oz It is sturdy and well made of think stainless steel - this will last a long time and is so much better than measuring with shot glasses or eyeballing.

I love making unique cocktails at home and this great little measuring cup makes all the weird measurements of the average jigger simply DISAPPEAR! Why? It's because most drink recipes need 1 ounce of this and a 1/2 ounce of that; unfortunately, my jigger has the weird 1.5 ounce measurement and then something close to 1/2 an ounce on the flip side, but it's not even a 1/2 ounce (I measured it more accurately and it was between 1 and 1/2 an ounce). This little drink-tailored measuring cup is molded out of a strong, thick plastic and feels like something the brand OXO would manufacturer (I love OXO's 2-Tablespoon coffee measuring scoop- amazing!) Better yet, the black measurement markings on the outside of this thing aren't needed JUST IN CASE (lol) they ever do come off. This is because the inner levels -- which are molded INTO the cup -- go from 1/2 to 1 to 1-1/2 to 2 ounces. With that simple design, those exterior markings will be useless since you already know what the measurements on this thing are thanks to its great design. Finally, the terrible label everyone complained about is GONE as per my photos of the label having peeled right off by hand. Glad they listened to the reviews and I'm sorry I'll never know the pain of the original label, haha.

On the smaller 1 oz side, there are markings at 1/2 oz and 3/4 oz. On the big 2 oz side, there is a inner line for 1.5 oz. Great build quality given the super low price. It took some time getting used to dumping fast into glass using a tall Japanese style jigger, but the margin of error for pouring to the internal lines is night and day better than the short style jiggers. I also find it easier to pour full 2 oz pours without drag pouring using the tall style jigger vs the short style jiggers. If you don't pour until you get a full meniscus with the short style jiggers, it's very easy to underpour. If you have never done so, I recommend measuring 1.5 oz exactly and then transferring the 1.5 oz into a short style 2 oz jigger and it will *blow your mind* how close 1.5 oz is to the top of the 2 oz jigger.

Great cocktail jigger. Works well. My only suggestion for improvement is larger text and markings on the inside of the jigger AND please mark the 1/4 ounce location. I've done a few recipes with it so far and each had an ingredient that asked for a 1/4 ounce of something. Given the cone shape, consider that 1/4 ounce isn't really halfway to a 1/2 ounce, so it would be nice if that was marked. You can just double the recipe and that problem goes away for more than one reason :)

I got this jigger the first time as a gift and loved it. I buy it time and time again and highly recommend it. It is an no-spill, accurate and easy to use jigger.

These mearures are so easy to read and make for quick drink recipe building. We've bought them for the entire family and have been using for years! Anytime someone visits our bar for the first time, they ask about the shot measure and where to get them. Would be lost behind the bar without. Highly recommend these for your drink making!

Good bar spoon for stirring mixed dranks. I use them at my bar so they get regular use and are in good shape. Buy it if you want to, or don’t... I don’t care i’m not your dad.

This is the second one of this style of jigger we've had, the first one lasted 10 years. so easy to use - we love it. The only complaint is that we couldn't get it in metric measurements
