can you change the flex pipe to a shorter one?

I don’t think so as we had an issue with the missing adaptors and I suggested using the old pipes off the old tap but was told they couldn’t be changed by my plumber.

Can the nozzle of the spout be unscrewed out?

nozzle can be unscrewed but it won't screw in the inside the teeth have been worn out

The one I have turns from shower to normal but there is a join above the part you turn I have not tried to remove it
