Best for Backyard Stagazing
Works great to provide household current to Celestron Nexstar telescopes when an outdoor electrical outlet is available. Eliminates having to use and replace batteries.

Celestron NexStar 6SE Power Cable - Just what I needed, for the best price out there
My original plug for my Celestron NexStar 6SE was broken years ago as my telescope was slewing around and the cable wound up and it ripped itself out of the socket, Oops. Since then I have just used batteries in the Telescope but it has not worked well and the auto-tracking abilities were pretty much lost since the batteries didn't supply enough power to the telescope reliably. Finally got this plug and wow, I had forgotten how much of a difference it made. Glad I found this on Amazon since the price was more affordable, shipping was free and fast, and now my telescope works as intended. It is nice too that it comes with so many different types of plugs, I'm just in the USA so my plug is just for standard American outlets but it comes with a bunch of European style plugs too.

Perfect factory replacement
Good Celestron Quality and design, usable on several of their telescopes.

Celestron Nexstar 5SE
This powered my Celestron Nexstar 5SE telescope yesterday for the whole eclipse. No problems. I was plugged into a Jackery battery also plugged into a solar panel. I had no power problems. As the telescope turns, I use a velcro strap to strap the wire to a leg with enough play so it doesn't pull tight.

Great Product
Works great! A little play when plugged into my Celestron Nexstar 6se but no different then my USB cables or AC adapter in my laptop or my USB charger for my Cell or Sony Walkman MP3 (great product by the way!!!). Doesn't just fall out of the port like some of the reviews say that I have read. You actually have to pull it out. But an intelligent suggestion would be to put the 8 batteries (in this case for the Nexstar 6se) into the battery compartment as backup. Just in case either end of the AC adapter accidentally becomes unplugged. This way you don't have to re input data and realign. Great product and price!!

Great replacement for 12V power pack! Steady voltage for ALL night viewing!
Like a clutz, my foot caught my 12V car adapter plug that came with my CG5GT mount. I have pulled the plug out on other occasions but this one felt a little firmer and I heard a snapping noise. The wire had pulled out of the plug instead of the plug out of the socket. Not being able to find a replacement cord, I found this on Amazon. As batterys can provide the purest, cleanest DC, I had always used a simple power pack before. Since clear skys are far and between, I found the great weakness with these packs is either leaving them trickle charging constantly or risk your mount slewing slowly as the night goes on. Running a CG5 or other mount and using an astrozap system will tax these packs unless you keep them peaked up which I have sometimes forgotten to do. This adapter provides a steady stream of power ALL night long and after using it a few times I really appreciate it. The Orion nebula comes over the horizon at my location EARLY in morning at this time of the year so it makes it all the more likely my setup will be fully functional when it does come into view. I love it! But I still want a 12V car adapter plug for dark sites away from 120V outlets.

Good purchase
I ordered the adapter so I wouldn't go through so many batteries when using our telescope at home. It was a great purchase and well worth it. As with many battery operated items, as the batteries get used, the device they power starts to slow down. This is the case with our celestron telescope. Not only does it slow down, when the batteries get to a certain point in their use, the star tracking functions stop working correctly. So, even though the 'scope has power to move, it's slow and and won't follow the star tracks. Not only that, but it won't even correctly star align on start up. But, with the power adapter, that's no longer a problem. The built in functions of the 'scope work perfectly and the 'scope moves with authority when changing from one object to another and correctly stays fixed on the object as it moves through the sky. Any drawback would be having to connect it to an electrical cord and make sure you don't trip over it, but that's a minor problem. I'd definiately recommend this to anyone with a 'scope.
