Dry in a monsoon
Ok so the choice is to buy a £90 Dryrobe or this item at about £20. Buy this and save the extra money. I wear this when watching my kids at weekend sports. It can be a miserable business standing in the pouring rain but this rain jacket does a really good job of keeping out all the elements. The jacket keeps out the wind as well so wind chill reduction help keeps you warm. The sleeve cuffs are elasticated internally so that prevents a hurricane going up your sleeves. Best to wear with a baseball cap as the hood has no peak so in very heavy rain some water gets on your face - minor point really. Don’t forget the rain all comes off the jacket so without waterproof trousers your legs will get soaked. Same goes for footwear. Good bit of no nonsense kit. Yeah you could spend the extra dosh on a Dryrobe but no one cares what brand of jacket you’re wearing when it’s absolutely pouring with rain and blowing a gale. Size was about right - still able to get a warm jacket underneath.

Good size.
Great coat for the rain. Perfectly dry and length great good quality. Looks good and breathable. Would recommend for wet damp morning walks.

Good value and quality raincoat
Sizing is accurate. I ordered the next size up thinking it may need more room when worn on top of jacket etc., but I could have stayed with usual size as it is rather too big. Not a big issue as it covers very well.

Easy to fit and it does the job nicely
I'm 6ft 3In tall and about 20 stones in weight. Yes, I used to play rugby, I'm that sort of build. This raincoat was XXXL (3XL) as I intend to wear it over my usual fluffy jacket. Amazon suggested 2XL, which might have been OK if I had not worn anything under it. Today it was raining and I tried it out. Fantastic! It was about 12C outside so not too warm and there was no danger of this turning into a sweat weight-loss program, which another reviewer mentioned. In the summer it might be a different story, but it rains less then anyway. And rain is warmer. It fitted great, it has pockets (which were amazingly warm), it was 100% waterproof, the hood fitted over my baseball cap and was easily secured with the drawstring toggles --- in short it did the business and even if I only wear it half a dozen times a year it will be worth not being drenched. It was of a more robust construction than I had anticipated, not exactly lightweight but once I put it on it felt light enough. It was comfortable too, with the very soft plastic used. No complaints. TL;DR the dog got far wetter than I did, even though he wore a doggy mac. Buy again: Yes (wife already wants one) Recommend to a friend: Yes

Woman - Size 20
I have a long "waterproof" coat that cost an awful lot of money and it looks great but it actually leaks in places. This coat is not a pretty thing but it is definitely waterproof! I like the fact that it has elicitation at the cuffs inside the sleeve so water doesn't run up inside when you raise your arms. The main difference between pricey coats and coats like this is the breathability of the fabric. This one is not breathable so it does get warm inside but I actually don't mind that because it means you don't have to put a jumper on underneath when its cold and wet- a long sleeved t shirt will suffice. If it's warm and wet it does get a bit sweaty but I would rather just undo my coat and get a little wet when it's not cold. Huge pockets are fab for tennis balls, mobile phone, etc. The length is below the knee on me (5ft 5") which is great. The hood is a good size and I wear a baseball cap underneath to keep it off my face. All in all a very practical, waterproof coat for dog walking, etc.

100% Waterproof, but you'll end up as wet through sweat!
I bought this coat for dog walking, and on the whole it has been pretty decent, surviving the most brutal of Scottish weather assaults. It is 100% Waterproof, 0% breathable - what I imagine walking around in a high quality black bin bag (the ones you used to be able to get from the council) would be like. You stay dry from the precipitation falling from the sky, however end up wringing wet with your own sweat. If you've got a wedding coming up and need to loose a few inches fast, I highly recommend a swift walk around your local park in this jacket. I actually don't think this should be held against the jacket though as you know that it is not breathable when purchasing, so really only have yourself to blame. The reason for my 3 star review is that within a couple of months a slight slip in the woods on Christmas Day saw me need to summon my inner Jane Torvil to stay vertical. Sadly in the process of not falling over the zip has ripped away. I initially gave this coat a 2 star review, big have upgraded on reflecting that it is not the manufacturers fault that the path I was walking on was wet and slippery and I have the balance of a newborn deer after a couple of pints. If you're looking for a long waterproof jacket, which will keep you dry from the weather and only have a limited budget, then you can't go too far wrong with this. Just be careful when walking in slippery locations or performing deep lunges.
