This is a great product. Plantar fasciitis can be extremely painful and can be difficult to treat and heal. Any brace is just one part of a treatment plan- not a quick fix. If you wear this brace and then walk barefoot or in high heels or run through the pain-your plantar fasciitis will not go away. I had three cortisone shots, used a brace that went on top of my foot (which I hated), wore only expensive new balance sneakers with custom orthotics, had 2 months of physical therapy and my plantar fasciitis would not go away. After consulting three podiatrists, I had surgery for plantar fasciitis and lengthened my calf muscle which was too tight. I was casted then in a CAM walking boot which was horrible to sleep in. I bought this brace to use when I got out of the walking boot. Is it perfect? No, but it only cost $25. It was very comfortable. I found that instead of putting the ankle strap across the top ankle to ankle , I put it over and down to the bottom of the boot -ankle to heel, which kept my foot in place. It has slightly a forward bend by the calf and the heel goes too far back. I didn't try to get my heel all the way back. I'm a woman in size 8.5 shoe and bought a medium. My calf was swollen after surgery and this brace gives plenty of room for large calfs. It is not meant to walk in, but you can hobble to the bathroom. I wish it had more padding on the bottom to cushion the heel for these nighttime bathroom trips. It does not have rubber on the bottom-BUT you don't want that. You'd never be able to roll over in bed if there was rubber on the sole. The material is super soft, it's very comfortable, it stabilized my foot in a 90 degree angle. Exactly what you want for plantar fasciitis. I'm six weeks post surgery and I found that this boot is perfect for icing my heel and calf using the soft reusable ice packs. I would definitely recommend it.

This product really does help recovery from plantar fasciitis (PF)! Some people have PF for 6 weeks, others for a year or more. I fell into the latter category. I was stubborn about wearing a night splint because it seemed hideous looking. After 7 months of chronic daily pain I finally tried wearing a night splint. The first one I tried was the Ace brand night splint and it was horrible- extremely uncomfortable/painful on the foot and I couldn't tolerate it for more than an hour. I also tried Strassburg sock - expensive and uncomfortable. Then I tried this by Vive and it was wonderful! It's comfortable to wear all night long and doesn't seem "hot" like other reviewers said. The brace is very cushioned and once it's on, you don't even notice it. It provided IMMEDIATE morning relief the very first time I wore it! Those "first steps" out of bed in the morning felt magically improved. A stubborn case of PF doesn't cure overnight, so the afternoon pain after working on my feet did remain for a while. But within a month or so using this boot regularly my PF overall is finally getting better. I WISH I WOULD HAVE TRIED THIS PRODUCT SOONER and maybe I wouldn't have had such a persistent case of PF. How it works (based on my experience): without a night splint, the microtears in the plantar fascia of the foot heal while sleeping but the foot naturally drops forward (plantar flexion position) in bed, therby shortening the muscle. As getting out of bed and putting weight on the foot, the muscle gets stretched and everything that healed overnight tears again; day after day, week after week. But using the splint kept my foot in dorsiflexion position (foot/ankle upwards, calf flexed) and the muscle healed in an elongated position and therefore did not tear upon standing in the morning. It also helped me to do some GENTLE stretching/loosening up before getting out of bed and doing CALF STRETCHES throughout the day/before bed at night. Final notes: the boot seems to run a little large. I kept the size they recommended but if my foot was smaller, I would have sized down. These are very comfortable to wear and definitely do what they are supposed to do: relieve plantar fasciitis pain. Getting out of bed in the morning without having to worry whether I could actually walk or not is simply priceless. Just make sure to use it for a while to help in the long run, even though you will literally feel almost 100% after one night's use.

Omg this is perfect product I have to wear a cast for 3 months but it constant rubs causing sore and you have to wear a shoe that dosent fit and when standing always in the middle of the night too or I would slip on the cast I have a dropped arch and just had my ankle joint removed The consultant has decided not to repair the dropped arch But found this product amazing The heel is so spongy it bounces the heel back up so no pressure on my painful heel too There are wedges to place taking pressure off the arch amazing It also fits a good size leg as mine has swollen due to operation having my foot with a fixater too Wish I had found this earlier I’m going to wear it all the time now
