Includes the original album, bonus tracks, BBC sessions and live material plus promo and live videos, TV appearances and a new acoustic performance of 'My Favourite Dress' plus an interview with David Gedge discussing the collection. All the content is housed in a hardback book which includes lyrics, imagery and memorabilia scans and extended notes. TOMMY is a compilation album by The Wedding Present, originally released in 1988, collecting songs from the band's first four singles, plus four tracks recorded for BBC Radio sessions. Bringing together material written in the band's first two years of existence, TOMMY proved that The Wedding Present's essence was in place from the start. These kinetic blasts of homespun high-velocity bedsit drama presaged the more finessed George Best, but represented the band's definitive portrayal.

A solid CD, from beginning to end.  At this point, my second favorite of theirs after George Best, which is tough to beat by any group.

The 2014 deluxe versions of all the Wedding Present albums are a quality control disaster with the discs marred by splotches of glue and deep scratches. Edsel Records should be ashamed of themselves, the Wedding Present deserves better.

This CD really shows off the Best of 1980's era Weddoes work. I can listen to this Cd over and over esp. songs like this boy can wait. Its catchy Jingle Janglely cat scratchy music and I'm sure any indie rock fan would love this.
