We are loving this phone system. I didn't quite realize what it could do for us when I initially bought the base, in that it makes your telephone wires in the house obsolete - if you want it to. The house was wired, so why should I care? Until one day we hit the max of frustration on our internet service dropping off and started evaluating how the house was wired in our triple play Comcastic home. The telephone service had its own modem that attached to and supported all the house telephone wires and phones. The internet had its own modem and router, along with TV cable boxes being hooked up on that cable. We had heard that having a separate telephone modem could cause interference with the cable modem, especially if it is out of date, which it was. So we rewired the house and gave one line to the television cable boxes (best to do for Xfinity) and the other cable to a new telephony internet modem rented through Comcast, hooked up the Panasonic KX-TG4022 base directly to the modem and amazingly have not experienced internet drop offs since. We pulled all the old telephones and their wires out and added this extra handset so each floor had a phone - telephone wire free. Indirectly, this Panasonic phone system saved my sanity from internet drop offs! As for the handset itself, we love that we don't need reading glasses to make out who is calling.

I bought the original phone at a store. It came with one extra handset which I kept in our bedroom. I have a three story house. two apartments, but both of them are currently occupied by my family. I did not want to pay for extra phone service for the downstairs and was tired of stomping on the floor every time I wanted my kids to come upstairs. When I realized the original phone had an intercom on it, I ordered this extra handset to keep downstairs. There was no problem with shipping (although I did order the wrong model # originally --my fault) and since I had amazon prime it came quickly. The set up was simple- just put the batteries (included) in and press a button so it connects with the base. The intercom works perfectly. It's easy enough for my kids to figure out, has a separate loud ring and the reception is no different than any phone. We have had no issues so far with this phone. Another think I like is each handset has a # on the screen. So I know that handset #3 goes downstairs, 1 is living room, 2 is bedroom, etc. The only reason it didn't get five stars is because we haven't had it long enough to say it will last. But so far, so good.

I originally had two Uniden phones and found that I couldn't pick the phone up from the handset and talk immediately. I had to wait about 20 seconds for the phones to connect and would miss calls. The Panasonic doesn't do this. The screen is large, adjustments are easy, and voice clarity is great! I can also travel to a neighbor's and be able to take calls, as this covers a good distance. I also have the Panasonic "talking caller ID phone" which is great also. They are making phones flatter (like cell phones), and when talking for long periods of time, the flatness can irritate your ear, but will have to adjust to this, as this seems to be the way all phones are made now. I miss the curved hearing part that phones used to have! Phone comes with a clip-on to take with you if desired. I highly recommend Panasonic phones!

The best thing I love on these phones is the ability to hear and play messages on every phone. The talking caller ID works pretty good. I like it. The displays are big and clear. The sound quality is excellent. I bought the panasonic headphones and love them. The headphones work great if you want to call friends and talk to them while playing against them online. The only thing I don't like is that the phone will ring once before it blocks a caller on your blocked list. The phone rings, identifies the phone number and then blocks it from ringing again. I wish the phone was designed to ring silently on the first ring. If you're expecting a call you might get up and take a few steps towards the phone before you realize it was blocked. Very annoying. Fix that problem and the phones would be as good as you could get. My advice is to keep a phone next to you or attached to you using the belt clip. I still give the phones 5 stars. They have the most features and work great.

I have owned several cordless phones over the years. They all came up short in one way or the other until I bought this phone. I ordered a two set phone system two years ago because of the reviews on the web. This phone system is by far the best phone system I have ever owned. The sound quality is crystal clean and the volume is high and best of all no outside noise. It also works well with my voip system" NetTalk" . It is the only phone that will work properly with this voip service. I ordered this extra hand set to put in the bedroom . I plugged it in pushed the locator button on the base and in five seconds it was ready to use. If you want a cordless phone system buy Panasonic and get the best model and you want be sorry you did.

This is my fourth (4) phone: base set plus 3 extra handsets -- one each for bedroom, kitchen, living room and den. Love the small footprint of base. Sound is good, functions (caller ID, programmable ringtones for selected numbers and groups, numbers in memory) very helpful, numbers and buttons large and easy to use, and price is right. Plastic housing is thin and lightweight, but don't have unruly children banging on it, so would rather have as they are than pay much higher price. Base unit has very good printed instructions/guide to programming, and handsets immediately connect to base with access to all features and previously programmed functions. Recommend highly especially for older users.

I am happy with the quality, features and ease of use of the telephone overall, though pronunciation by the talking caller id voice is often unintelligible. Thank goodness I can change ringtones for different categories of caller so I know whether or not to answer. The telephone worked without the range extender up to 350 feet from the house, much farther than we need. A similar less expensive phone without the range extender would have been good enough.

Very fast delivery from Amazon !The phone connected immediately with our existing base station and it also put my phone directory into the new phone - a real time saver ! The screen is very bright and easy to read. I love the page feature to connect with either of our existing Panasonic phones.Excellent quality.

Perfect fit for our house...The only downside is that it's billingual Yes English and Spanish... :-)We are French and English!Beside the fact that these handsets are English in our French household, they are perfect!Merci!

Bought it for my Mom as an extra phone in her bedroom, its the same as her base phone. She is 90 and it is a bit of a challenge to learn any new electronics. I would buy it again.

I give it five stars because it worked just as it should. I wanted to add a third handset to my existing Panasonic cordless phone system. Following the simple instructions, this handset linked in to the system in a matter of seconds. All good.

Was a gift for the in laws, good price and have not heard any complaints about the product.
