Men's Tech 7 Enduro Drystar Waterproof Motocross Boots, Enhanced Comfort, CE-Certified

Update 2: March 2024: Over 100 rides in these now, still fit great, still very comfortable, still holding up well. Buckles are still very solid and snap down well. I am just a single-track woods-rider, not doing MX. I read reports that if you get mud/dirt caked on the buckles, they can be hard to close and this is true. The fix is very easy, just wash them off... squirt water at the buckles to wash the dried up dirt out of the closure mechanism, back to good-as-new. Its really a non-issue, but just in the interests of full-disclosure, I mention it. They have sole-wear that I would say is typical (my footpegs are pretty aggressive). I have one spot that has a sort of 'cut' on the right boot from catching a footpeg when foot slipped off the kickstarter... totally my fault. If I had to pick-on one thing?... its tough, but I have noticed that it is possible to un-buckle the middle buckles by catching them on things riding through single-track woods. Now, usually when this happens it is b/c I ran off-trail or otherwise made a mistake, but 'it is a thing that has happened'... ymmv. Its not enough of a thing that makes me worry about it. Another nit-pick?... they're also really squeaky. I call them AlpineSqueaks. I don't really care, I can't hear them while riding... just walking. A lot of boots squeak. So many upsides for these boots though... great fit/comfort/feel/protection... what else do you want? I'd buy these again for sure, especially if I can get the same kind of deal (~$250/pr). If I wind up in a different brand, it'll only be b/c I got an even better deal. ------------------ Update: After riding with these a few times now, the left-arch thing seems to have resolved itself. ------------------ Initial review having just received the boots. These are a solid value. You get the Alpinestars quality at a bit of a discount b/c these are discontinued color-ways, but otherwise appear to be the same boot as to what is currently available. I saw some reviews saying they got Tech 3s when they ordered 7s, but I got what I ordered: Tech 7s, in the size I ordered (10 US). Fitment is good, good room in the toe-box. I wear a 10 in most shoes/sneakers other than the brands that typically run small like Nike where I wear an 11 usually, unless a 10.5 actually fits ok. I'd say order your normal shoe size if you usually have no problem with shoes fitting. Folks that have marginal/odd-shaped feet, you know who you are... take that under advisement. Moto boots are meant to be tight and then break-in, but all I was looking for was if my toes were cramped/touching the tip of the toe-box. On these, they are not. The sides (pinky/big-toe), I can feel the sides of the toe-box, but I expect this will break in, so this is not a concern. My left boot feels slightly tighter in the arch support area, which is creating some pressure/discomfort there. I am not sure if this is a defect or just my foot is weird. I don't usually have this issue in regular sneakers or work-boots, but moto-boots are snug by nature. So, maybe my left arch is shaped differently than my right and I never noticed? This is the only issue if I was going to be picking on these. If this arch thing resolves itself by the boot breaking in more to my foot-shape, then all good. The pressure I feel there is not horrible, but I haven't ridden with these for any real length of time yet (other than a 15-20min short ride the other day when I got them). If I do a 2 hour trail ride and my left foot is in agony by the end, then my opinion is going to change a lot. Until I get to do a longer ride, I'm going to be wearing these around the house off-n-on for the next few days to see if they break in more. In general, they are otherwise decently flexible out of the box b/c they have the articulated joint for the ankle. In that respect, no real break-in period needed. The soles seem to offer good grip, the pegs get a good bite. I've had one old pair of Alpinestars boots since the late 90s, so they've changed a lot in the years. These have a 'cup-sole' vs being sewn on like the older stuff I started on. I'm not 100% sold on this 'glued-on' sole as a construction method, but I'm not going to list it as a negative unless it actually falls apart. I only needed to get new boots b/c on my old A-stars, the plastic parts were starting to rot and fail...but hell, its been over 20yrs on those boots... can't complain! I don't ride every weekend, only a few times a year when I can get away, so while its been 20'ish years, its not the same amount of riding a racer would put on a pair of boots in a given season even. I'm just a casual trail-rider. I loved those boots though... super supple, great feel... Italian-made + Italian-leather. I hope these measure-up.

This makes my 3rd set of Alpinestars Tech 7s. Still have one pair that are 10 years old. Benefits of this mid-range boot comfort longevity replaceable soles quality protection If you are new to riding or a seasoned vet I would look into the Tech 7. Most comfortable boot straight out of the box. That nice fit would lead you to believe that it isn't that much in the protection department. After owning these over the years I can say they are very safe. They provide just enough ankle rotational stability but not to much like some others. The toe box is small but still protective. The buckles are the easiest to use I believe. The only down fall I have had is the ankle pivot rivet failed on me with the last pair. Alpinestar will not repair them. I found a video online that shows a repair. That I did over 5 years ago and they are still going.

Great moto boots that keep me safe. As always there is a few day break in at normal use, but it is worth the time and the price for these boots.

Amazing, comfortable and form fitting.

These things have SAVED my foot many time. Being alpinestars they’re obviously super high quality. They feel rigid and sturdy, and have saved my foot from some stiff crashes. In some hard enduro settings they’re also pretty good at keeping my foot warm despite all the mud. They go on and off super easily but I’ve never had an issue where the zipper gets loose or the Velcro comes off. And being alpinestars they look awesome with any color.

Fit and ruggedness of boot are fantastic. Good price and fast service.
