XFORT Digital Door Lock - Satin Chrome Keypad Combination Lock with Optional Hold Back Function

This item was purchased to replace an existing keypad lock that had started to fail to open after several years. This lock immediately felt more robust than the old lock but also in a smaller form factor. The all-metal construction feels really solid and the buttons operate with a satisfyingly robust mechanical click. The system for changing the combination is straightforward once you understand the principle, and I was easily able to program a new shorter code than the factory default to match the existing one that was used. The unit I was replacing had and identical larch mechanism and mounting screw positions, so replacement was very easy. For new installations they include a handy template to enable you to drill appropriate mounting holes. The instructions overall weren't bad, although I didn't see reference to that fact that you can adjust which way the internal handle operates by removing a screw from the inner rear of it from one hole to another to get the handle to turn correctly for the handedness and swing of your door. It's smooth to operate, and although firm the buttons are not too difficult to push. The lock looks good, but of course only time will tell how it stands up to the weather, but the build quality gives me no reason to think it won't last a long time. Recommended.

Seems like a decent enough product - pretty sturdy. Fairly easy to install, but fitting the latch mechanism into the door takes some precision drilling with a large 25mm drill bit. Does all need to be lined up exactly. The instructions are a bit confusing in places - referring to a template and some holes I could not see and cannot understand what they are for. didn't try to change the code, but my instructions referred to red and blue pieces which actually look gold and silver.

Really well made combination locks. Fairly easy to fit. They are solid and look great. Easy to reset. Have been used by my tenants for years and with no problems.

Excellent quality. Solid and looks weatherproof. Easy to fit if you take time to study the instructions. It helps to have the right sized drills. The code is easy to change if you need to with the tweezers supplied but note you cannot create a sequence, only a change of numbers and letters - it won't matter in what order they are entered. I would definitely buy another if I need one.

Looks good but sometimes doesn't lock which isn't great.

This was a great buy. Looks and feels high quality. I needed this for my cellar door, something to stop the kids getting in but easy access for us without losing keys! The fitting instructions were detailed and easy to follow. Would definitely recommend.

I'm not a carpenter. So I read the instructions a couple of times and reset the code. Resetting the code was fairly easy. Some bits of the instructions could be clearer and are not quite right. But the main principles are easy to follow. The instructions could have emphasized to make sure you drill the holes level as this can lead to problems when lining up the screws to first both sides together. I had to modify a couple of the holes. When installed it worked first time. Looks and feels strong quality. Took me around two hours to fit.
