How the Grinch Stole Christmas: Ultimate Edition (BD) [Blu-ray]

As a non-native who has been living in Europe for over a decade, I was missing a lot of the staple holiday classics I had enjoyed during my formative years. After becoming a father of two, I decided it was time to invest in several of the Christmas movies that were always on heavy rotation back home. I bought this disc simply for the Grinch and didn't pay much attention to the product description, so I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it also includes the original animated version of Horton Hears a Who. Even if you never grew up with this film, I would highly recommend it for both you and your little ones.

I ordered the DVD to give to my four-year-old daughter for Christmas. She was already familiar with the Grinch book, and I grew up watching the TV special every year. Well ... we watched the Grinch once. Then gave "Horton hears a Who" a try, which is included as a bonus. She can't get enough of it. It really is beautifully restored and a wonderful story. At this price, what's not to love?

Great film for whole family

I know this is the classic version, but it is just so much better in its animated form. The characters are so quirky and it is done so well. A classic for all ages. My daughter insisted on watching it over and over.

After hunting around for this for quite some time, I was glad not to find the terrible Jim Carrey adaptation and to come across this one for Region 2. It's exactly what I wanted to share with my friends before we broke up for the Christmas break and with my sisters right before Christmas eve - and I definitely plan to come back to it again when the festive season begins next year.(Nostalgia aside, it DOESN'T have Jim Carrey in it, which might be the biggest plus of the entire product! {especially after all of my friends only connected the film to the terrible remake})

Has provided my grandkids with hours of happy viewing 👍

The children, 8 and 11, enjoyed it, as did the older generations.

Need I say more? Dr. Seuss, directed by Chuck Jones and narrated by Boris Karloff!It is a faithful re-telling of Dr. Seuss's classic story that copies the art and most importantly retains the word play. It even has some good songs if you like that kind of thing!The Grinch, bitter and selfish steals Christmas away from the Whose. Disguising himself as Santa, he sneaks down to the Whose to take everything Christmassy, and everything else. But will that stop Christmas? Is he beyond enjoying the season himself? What happens when little Cindy Loo Who, who returns his spiteful act with an act of kindness itself...If your only point of reference is the recent film (never mind) this is much (much) better. Who can fail to love the Cat in the Hat; the way this is presented...This disc also includes another cartoon (by the same team) from a Dr. Seuss book, Horton Hears a Who, which is due for cinema release soon...
