What’s the distance for range

Hi, still ok at 200metres not sure after that.

I am new to all this, do I have to do anything to my 3 rc cars or does it just pick them up and work like that

First you switch it on and no cars switched on, go to 'model' and select your number. For you first car you can pick 1 but you dont have to make the first one you add '1' you can pick any of the 20. Then you have to bind each car using the bind plug supplied as per instructions and repeat for each car choosing a different number each time. Then you can simply switch between cars

Does it have gyro function?

Yes, it's pretty good. Fine for touring and off road, maybe a bit too reactive for drifting. Setup is easy from the handset. I use very light settings for my drift car and it works ok, but not as well as a drift specific gyro.
