**Q: are these waterproof??**
A: If you put something inside one of these containers they will stay dry as long as the top is not pried open or crushed.  The term "waterproof" would mean that even if crushed it would be dry and that is not the case then.  Under typical conditions these film canisters will keep the inside dry.
