Sleep in Comfort! These Camping Pads are Awesome!
As my wife and I set off on an adventure of a lifetime, hiking and camping through Arizona desert and mountain regions, we needed good sleeping pads that were comfortable and lightweight. The Ultralight Series has worked great! We've been camping for the last couple of weeks on hard, rocky, surfaces in the deserts and mountains, and even the lightweight has proven to be very comfortable and durable. I can't even tell I'm sleeping on the ground. Even though I was not looking for the insulation value on this product (that's why I purchased the lightweight for backpacking not comfort or warmth value) it made a huge difference in the cool desert evenings. When we first unpacked these before use, we allowed the foam to expand and the mattress to naturally fill with air for a few hours while we set up camp. Once we were ready for bed we only needed a good, solid breath or two to fill the sleeping pads up, and next thing you know, we were sleeping in comfort. I'm 6'5" and 205lbs and is this product has worked great. I highly recommend Fox Outfitters sleeping pads! Happy camping!

Best sleeping pad for the money
I have had the Fox Outfitters Ultralight Sleeping Pad for 3 months and have slept on it over 15 nights including a backpacking trip in the Bighorns. Long story short, this is the best sleeping pad you can buy for this price, anywhere. I spent 5+ hours researching for a compact and light self-inflating sleeping pad at a reasonable price and finally decided on this one for $50. In my opinion, self inflating (open cell foam) pads are the best all-around type of sleeping pad. They are comfier and more compact than hard (closed cell) foam pads, but they are warmer and easier to set up than air pads. Setup is simple: unroll the pad, open the air valve, wait 10-20 minutes, add 2 or 3 of your own deep breathes and close the valve. I chose the Fox Ultralight Pad because this is one of the few self-inflating sleeping pads that is meant to be folded in half for storage while still being an inch and a half thick. Folding it in half also makes it easier to roll up and get all the air out of the pad. Combine that with the mummy shape and diamond cutouts in the foam and you get a very light and compact, comfortable sleeping pad. Thermarest makes sleeping pads that compact even more than this one and may be slightly more comfy, but they will cost more than twice as much as this pad. Some self-inflating pads have brass valves, but this one has a plastic valve. However, the valve seems very durable as long as you aren't stomping on it with your boots. But you shouldn't have your boots in the tent anyways! The outer material of this pad is thin to help make it light and compact, but still seems plenty strong. This pad comes with a small patch kit but I have not needed to use it. At the time of writing this review, the item happens to be out of stock. If this is still the case, I also strongly encourage you to consider the Fox Lightweight Series Self Inflating Pad! This pad is the same price and of the same quality but orange colored, has smaller cutouts in the foam, and is rectangular instead of mummy shaped. Because of this, it is a little heavier than the ultralight green pad. You also do not fold this pad in half for storage, which gives it a profile that is twice as long but slightly slimmer than the green ultralight pad. However, this makes it easier to store on the outside of your backpack if you need extra room in the main compartment. My only complaint about the Fox self-inflating pads is that the material on them is quite slippery, and it kept sliding out from under me if I moved around in my hammock, but if you are in a tent on flat ground you'll be fine!

Excellent pad for the price
I did not keep this pad simply because it did not fit me. However, that doesn't mean it isn't a great ultralight pad. I owned the thermarest pro lite plus pad and also this at the same time and to be honest I couldn't tell the difference. The fox outfitters weighed a tad more, but I didn't believe that justified 50 more dollars to the price tag of the thermarest. When I laid on it (back sleeper) I was off the floor and felt pretty well supported. Being 1.5" thick I didn't think my lower back could handle it but it did farely well. I also take into account I'm sleeping on a slab of earth, so comfort is relative. Had the pad fit me I would have most likely hung onto it.

easy to inflate/deflate
Minimalist, packs small, easy to inflate/deflate. Is it the most comfortable thing to sleep on? No. If you are planning on using it on super rockey or uneven substrate, i would get something less minimalist. Or find a newspot to camp.

My husband likes his
My husband really enjoys taking our boys camping. I got this for him and he said that he loves it. The last few times they went camping, he woke up with a few aches and pains. This time he said that he work up fine. I don't want to make it sound like having this is like sleeping on your bed because it's not. But, having it did make enough of a difference for my husband that he commented about it to me.

This is so easy to carry or pack and now I can sleep ...
I had back surgery and my upper back is metal. This is so easy to carry or pack and now I can sleep on any mattress. You can adjust the pad to make it solid (stiff) or let air out and have it softer. You'll learn how to deflate and get it back in the carry bag.I'm short (5'1") so the narrowness doesn't bother me. It's better fitted to a sleeping bag but I've used it many times now and I find it works well.

it will greatly increase the life of the product and be more comfortable to sleep on
I don't normally fill out reviews/surveys/questionnaires - I did in the past only when repeatedly asked... My "review" is usually to continue business with said individual. I can appreciate the need for it in todays society though. As far as Fox outfitters, the item arrived on time, undamaged and was exactly what I ordered, and I look forward to future purchases with this company. Anyone complaining about the camp pads being "flat" or not inflating, needs to store them in a hanging position when not being used a lot... it will greatly increase the life of the product and be more comfortable to sleep on. They are all "self inflating" to a point, but all of these style camp pads do need a little extra inflation after the foam has completely expanded, that's a given... mine is exactly what I needed, and the price was great too.
