Perfect for 2009 Fit Sport
My original fob case (on the left in this photo) broke apart after 15 years of use. The key and buttons still worked fine, but the case cracked and crumbled apart. The Honda dealer told me the replacement part has the key shaft unified with the front of the case, so my only OEM option would be to replace the entire key, including recutting and reprogramming, for $240. This product solved the problem for $10! I bought the 2-pack because it's inexpensive and I wanted spare parts in case one of the pieces wasn't perfect or I dropped a screw. Some assembly tips: In the original fob, the key shaft is indeed screwed and glued to the front of the case, so peel off any plastic remnants from the shaft and clean off the glue residue. You want to start with a nice clean key shaft. I needed to use needle nose pliers to insert the key shaft fully into the provided sleeve, and also to slide the shaft/sleeve assembly fully into the slot in the new case. It's important to get it in there fully so the case will close and the screw holes will line up. Then screw it together and you're good to go! This case might be a little less sturdy than the original, but not by much. I ordered a silicone cover to hopefully make it last longer.

Simple and easy fix for a broken Honda key!
So you have a decade+ old Honda whose key seems broken in the plastic part? Were you wondering how many 100s of dollars you will need to spend to fix that? Wonder no more - this is what you need. It even comes with the right screw driver to deal with that teeny tiny screw in this keyfob. You can pair it with the CR 1616 cells to get a new working key in no time. The construction is solid with additional reinforcement for the steel stem of the key. Super easy to replace and works great with the typical Honda key.

Instructions lack details, read the reviews for best result
I'm docking one star for the instructions omitting details that will get you the best possible result. The main one is covered perfectly in the review featuring a video staring pretty fingernails. Definitely watch that, my aging eyes would have missed that detail if I hadn't. The other is you should note the orientation of the key blade and screw in the original and put it back together in the new shell the same way, using the original Honda machine screw if it is available. The screw that comes with it is more of a self tapping wood screw. I would only use it in a pinch, or if the threads in the key blade are already trashed. It's a great value, looks good, easily installs, and is pretty good quality. This is way easier, faster, cheaper than buying a blank and going to a locksmith, or worse, the stealership.

Find an installation guide on YouTube because it isn't intuitive but it does the job just fine
Exactly what I needed I was glad to see that it worked in the same way in terms of installation. I would highly recommend you checking that out on YouTube because it's not 100% intuitive but it's the third shell that I've had to need for my key fob but that's been in 15 years so not too shabby

Broke easily -very thin plastic and screw (both broke and wouldn't close all the way)-Honda Pilot'07
Bought for replacement of a Honda Pilot 2007 key that had broken. When swapping out the guts from the old to the new, the fob would not snap together - there was a gap on one side or the other (another's post shows picture of this - happened to me as well). I followed advice from the other posts and made sure was aligning up correctly but still wouldn't completely close. Also the key slides thru a black sleeve which progressively gets tighter and tighter as you slide it up (doesn't matter which way you put the key in) and gets to a point where you have to use brute force and a tool to get it all the way in. But after getting it as far as it would go, the key hole (hole at the top of the key) did not line up with the hold in the plastic sleeve - maybe about 70%. I was able to get the one of them screw in at an angle and then straightened out after several turns. I also moved over the security chip (you have to use a small screw driver tip to pry the case top off and the chip is partially glued you have to pry it out. There is no holder for the security chip so I put it in next to the remote - of course with it having not close all the way was concerning so I made sure the side not closing was away from the chip). The key and remote worked (I replaced the battery too), tut it left the key easy to break when you turn the key in the ignition as the fob doesn't close all the way. And the other fob was the same but the head of the screw broke off while tightening it. These are very poor quality and I cannot recommend them.

Key case is fine now, but I had to spend quite some time grinding out the internal section to get the main section to fit inside, but it’s in and working now.

Good key fob shells. I would have given 5 stars but it doesn't come with a Honda sticker nor does it have the small area for the sticker. Otherwise a good shell.
