OM SYSTEM Olympus LB‐T01 Lens Protector for TG-1/2/3/4/5/6 TG-7

Having spent nearly £500 on a camera which is the best in my opinion for my holiday photos I invested in a rubber camera case to protect it if dropped. Originally I bought a generic lens cover but it was hard to open and close and also jammed. I decided to purchase a oem cover and you can tell the difference between the cheap generic and original Oylimpus brand. This cover is easy to open and close, it does not jam or stick and is easy to use with your finger and thumb. I can now close the lens cover with ease and between shots. The cover is extortionatly expensive for what it it but worth the extra you pay as it does work. Additionally it also works perfectly if you have the rubber protective case fitted. Expensive but worth it

Absolute necessity! Fits beautifully and is simply operated. The lens protector really should come with the camera.

Fitted my Olympus TG6 perfectly, simple rotation of the cap opens the twin shutters built in to allow picture taking. More expensive than basic but can be left locked in place permanently so easy to use and protects the lens otherwise. Happy to pay the extra for clever functionality.

Any camera has to have a protector for any lens being used. For a mirrorless or DSLR, it's easy to attach a screw-in one. For a compact camera it isn't, which is why you need something specialised. To that end, OM Systems has one for the TG series. It's simple to attach after removing the lens ring by aligning the two white dots and turning clockwise until you hear a satisfactory click. Then turn it a fraction to open and reverse the turn to close. Yes it's plastic. Yes, it's a silly price. And yes, you can buy third party versions at a third of the price, but they often don't work or don't fit. You really have to bite the bullet and get an official lens protector. And it won't come off your camera.

Does the job, but outrageously expensive especially as it really should come with the camera, either built in or as an accessory. Nice sturdy feel, positive click.

Does the job. Perfect fit. Easy operation. Why not 5 stars? Because it is ludicrously expensive for an alleged optional accessory which should be included in the basic package. This is for an Olympus Tough camera, shock proofed and environmentally secure for use in challenging conditions where damage is likely. Why is the camera sold without protection for the most vulnerable component, the lens?

The Olympus Tough TG-6 doesn’t come with a lens cover (come on Olympus/really). I got this lens cover for protection and ease of use whilst snorkelling and it works well (as it ought to at the price).

As the camera , Tough TG6, does not come with a lens protector, for normal use, I think is a necessary piece of kit to protect the lens. Easily fits on the front of the camera, but, wow , is it expensive for what it is. Perhaps the fact that it is delivered from Germany is part of the problem. But, even so, it was a lot of money for protecting the lens.

Cet accessoire est pour moi un indispensable compte tenu de l'usage de l'appareil. Sans ce bouchon la protection devant l'objectif est exposée à tous les dégâts et rayures qui peuvent être occasionnés lors du transport ou l'usage de l'appareil. Un quart de tour permet d'ouvrir les volets situés devant le bouchon. Cette bague d'ouverture est partiellement en "dent de scie" ce qui évite qu'elle ne glisse et permet une ouverture très rapide. Le seul point négatif étant que cet accessoire n'est pas fourni avec l'appareil et reste donc une option assez chère, option quasi indispensable pour moi. Je recommande l'achat de cet accessoire sans aucune hésitation. J'espère que mon avis vous sera utile.
