Crane Genuine Replacement Demineralization Filter Cartridge for Teardrop Humidifier Reduces White Dust 1 Count (Pack of 1) Universal Humidifier Filter

This is our fourth Crane humidifier. The first 2 were the Drop shape, and while we loved them, the maintenance was high because of our hard water. They each lasted 15-18 months, save for a 4-month summer reprieve. I started using a Protec ball but didnt feel like they did anything, so stopped buying them. We think the mineral build-up is what caused their demise, and I take full blame for not cleaning them as often as instructed. Dust happens, especially in our home with forced-air heat, so I didn't purchase the cartridge for white dust reduction as much as humidifier maintenance support. I have had the Dragon and filter for about 5 weeks now, and the demineralization cartridge causes a noticeable difference in the unit. The water tank and reservoir have significantly less cleaning required - as in I've only cleaned it once, and not because the water had brown build-up but because I realized it was due for a vinegar rinse. I do think we've had a dust reduction but I couldn't attribute it completely to the humidifier cartridge because we also started using a more "advanced" furnace filter. I also can't tell if the filter causes less water to be misted into the air as the tank seems smaller than our former drop-shape tank even though one fill lasts the dragon through at least two full nights (medium powere 8pm-7am, low output or off rest of day). I say 5-stars because I'm lazy and I like not having to clean the humidifiers that are a necissity in our house at least 6-months a year. I will continue to buy these Crane-specific demineralization cartridges.

Not only does it do what it’s supposed to do with ease not using one is terrible so if you’ve never used one I strongly recommend you get one of these and try it out. All my family and friends use this and they all say the same thing it does the job really well. Also I use it a lot not just during the winter time but sometimes even other seasons because we live in New Mexico where it’s very very dry and it lasts about a year and a half. I am extremely pleased and I’ve gone out of my way to try to find it the old fashion way shopping on foot so I was delighted to find it here. Get one try it out see what you think you’ll be thanking me.

These work well to make our well water, not create a residue leaving mist. I’m mostly frustrated that it’s not advertised these exist in the first place. When you buy a crane, you’re under the notion that the only option is distilled water, but in fact, you can use one of these and use your own tapwater just fine! I’d say you can make them last a bit longer than one month as well, without issue.

I ordered two filters several months ago. The filters that you sent for the Crane Drop humidifier were not the correct filters for the humidifier that I have been using. The filters for my drop humidifier were beige and much shorter than the blue filters you sent me. Unfortunately for me I had put the two new filters away because the one in my humidifier was not ready to be replaced. When I opened the package and saw the blue filters (much longer than the beige filters that fit the humidifier), I realized that there were not the correct filters. The caps could not even be screwed on because they did not fit. Unfortunately, I am past the time when I can return them to you. Do you have the correct filters for the Crane Cool Mist Drop Humidifier? If not, I am stuck with two useless filters.

This crane replacement filter for the rear drop style work very well to filter the hard water. Much less white powder from the cool misting style humidifier now.

I tried the humidifier with and without the filter and cannot tell any difference in dust output. I have these air purifiers in the house and the blades are just as coated in thick white dust after 2 days with the filter than without it. I suppose it'll keep bacteria from building up and deposits from forming (I hope so at least). But the dust is just everywhere! Not too impressed with it. Besides the white dust problem you cannot use the humidifier w/o this filter. And if you dump the water out and let everything dry out between uses the filter beads totally dehydrate and will not rehydrate and do their job properly with the next use. It just turns the water nasty. If you just leave water in the humidifier to prevent this problem the gel beads become overly hydrated and turn the water yellow and gooey looking. You are damned if you do and damned if you don't. I'm getting rid of the humidifier and not dealing with this anymore. The penguin is cute but I don't want to have to pay almost $10 for a new filter every single time I use the thing. Not to mention I already paid $40 for this thing! I'm going to buy an old cheapo Vicks filterless humidifier. If it makes noise, it makes noise. At least it's not a giant rip off!!
