Great Unique Product
I have the MKE 400 mic on my Sony HDR-FX7 and its a great mic by itself but it seems to pick up a lot of wind noise at times. Also the Foam Windscreen seems to come off easy at times. This wind-muff clips onto the mic and stays on. It works beautifully with near to no wind noise. Its rather large and at times looks like an animal is attached to my camera but other then that its well worth buying to cut down on wind noise and it doesn't fall off

Very effective at eliminating wind noise - occasionally pops off the mic however
The noise dampening with this "dead Rat" muffler for the Sennheiser MZW00 is extremely good, and makes a huge difference if you are working in the wind or in places with wind guesting. It eliminates almost all wind noise and in heavy winds it makes the wind softer and less distracting. With this muffler on the Mic becomes a superb instrument instead of a decent mic with noise issues. It doesn't seat extremely well on the mic and pops off easily which might lead to loosing it. Storing it on the mike (what I do) makes for a bulkier presentation but is not too bad.Though it doesn't physically mate securely it is worth every penny for anyone who regularly or might occasionally use the Sennheiser mic outdoors or in any windy situation.Having the XLR adapter included is pretty cool for anyone using a camera with XLR inputs, but I haven't tested it myself as I am using a Nikon DSLR which takes the standard Mic-in.

Good muff with flaws.
As a wind muff this actually does a good job. I have bought many of these and half of the time they don't clip onto the mic very well and I am forced to use a rubber band to keep it from falling off. I also never could figure out why I have to buy a wind muff to get the XLR adapter. The XLR adapter should come with the microphone as standard equipment.

Better than the original, and it doesn't fall off when it feels like it. Get one.
I lost the foam wind block that came w the mic while running down a cross country trail to get to the finish before the men's varsity teams. Recordings I had made with the original foam (in the high and windy desert outide Park City, UT) had way too much wind noise. The recordings I've made since are much better, with very little wind noise. It's a good replacement and fits snugly on the mic.

Effective wind shield but it looks like a hamster is on your camera
Quire frankly Sennheiser should just include this with the microphone and charged extra. The little foam windscreen that comes with the mike is prone to falling off and that's why I ended up getting this. This furry wind screen snaps onto the mike unlike the foam windscreen which is held on by friction and since the mike is shaped like a long cone there's not much to hold it on. The XLR adapter seems useful but my video cameras with XLR audio jacks come with better microphones already so I haven't checked it. The only drawback is that many of the cameras you might use the Sennheiser mike on will be dwarfed by the windscreen accessory! It really looks like a small mammal has taken a perch on your camera. I might stick some googly eyes on it for fun. Otherwise it's a good accessory and I recommend it.

Best fit for MKE400
The MZW400 is the best fit for MKE400, perfect wind screen, easy assembly and much cheaper than in Taiwan, haha

Excellent for the Price
For a relatively inexpensive shotgun mic this is just what I wanted. Works quite well with my Canon EOS T2i and I have had good results from it on an old Panasonic PV-GS150 3 Chip SD Camcorder

Over 3 years of attempting to use this wind-muff and never once happy until the end and then it died.
I, like I'm sure many on here, bought this as a replacement for our lost OEM windscreen for our MKE400, and although I believe it did a fine job when it was secured on it was not a great experience. My main complaint is the wind-muff attaches very randomly and requires you to press the two sides together to make it snap into lock over the mic, this technique worked maybe 5 times out of every 100 uses, to the point where for the longest time I tied a shoelace around the mic and wind-muff just to keep it in place - the definition of "ghetto-rigged".Finally this last month I was able to get it to finally snap into lock consistently but out of nowhere the plastic the snaps into place on the inside finally broke. Now I'm left with a dead rat and I will not be repurchasing this item.
