More than anything else, I'll stress this: don't get one of these soft pocket tape measures more expensive than this. I got one of these and it's been just fine for months of daily use and knocking around my pocket every day. I'm sure some of these do break quickly, I'm sure plenty have the tag snap off the end or the internal spring break. Odds are it likely won't happen to you twice to you so spending more than twice the amount for this on something else to mitigate that risk isn't efficient.

This thing is handy and fits nice in a pocket. Key for me was reading reviews that stated the end piece is flimsy and will break. first thing to do is tie a knot in the end. the there is no risk of breakage causing issues. just remember to do the math, cause mine starts at the 2.inch mark due to the knot ... so have to be sure to subtract 2 from my measurements. I love this little tape measure. It’s small and very lightweight so it’s easy to keep in your pocket. I use it to measure fish which usually will rust your standard tape measure pretty quickly, and make them stop working. This one isn’t prone to rusting and is very easy to use. Also, it has a very long tape inside which is nice because I really won’t have to worry about it not being able to measure my catch, as long as it’s less than 9ft.

We often seemed to be needing a soft tape measure for measuring things like bodies, so I got this one. It serves the purpose and is nice and compact.

The item arrived promptly and we'll packaged in its own plastic storage bag. I bought this a second time as first one took a vacation somewhere but this item is long lasting and very useful. I very much recommend it.

After 3 years, the little tab at the end ripped off and the tape retracted inside its holder. There is no way to open the tape measure and retrieve the end without destroying it. I guess this isn't so bad for something that cost $4, but it's not what i would call high-quality.
