Great Cup
Specs:2.1 ouncesHolds 2 cups with markings on inside with cups and MLFolds flat which is really nice. Like that, it's lightweight and seems durable. Have used it a few times now for hot coffee and tea. Does get a bit hot so may need a glove depending on how hot the water is when you pour it in. Does seem to cool down pretty quickly. Dishwasher safe, have run it through about 4 times. No residual odor from the coffee or tea that I can tell. Would buy again

The Rim is Weak - Lasted a Month.
Buyer Beware - Today, a little over a month after receiving the mug, the black rim split in two. Each crack is right across from the other. The silicone split, too and gets worse with each folding now. It is unusable, and unstable. I really enjoyed it up until that very moment. I kept it folded in my cooler at work and pulled it out to drink cool water with my lunch. I had a couple hot tea drinks in it and it does very well with hot beverages, I don't know what people are talking about. The water wasn't boiling when I poured it in, but keurig dispenser hot for instance. It was very easy to hold with hot tea in it. I was a couple days beyond the return date or I would have sent it back These are not cheap. I have the bowl and the single cup, too. I was using the cup until I ordered the mug without a problem. Only a week or so. I only used this thing about 30 times and it died. Buyer beware. If the rim was stronger, this would be a great product.....but it isn't.

solid product, small annoyances
It's a good size mug, holds a lot and has measurement markings on the inside, they're a little hard to see but not too bad. The collapsibility is nice, I got it not for hiking but for keeping in my work bag for commuting, it really saves space and it's nice to have a cup always available for use at the water cooler or if I pass a water fountain. It's pretty flexible which makes it hard to hold with one hand even though it has a rubbery-grip kind of texture (unless maybe you have big hands, I don't know). Also the grippy texture seems to attract lint so it might be a good idea to rinse it before using. The top black rim is a little stiffer, so it's easy to hold with both hands, with the thumbs and forefingers around the rim and the pinkies supporting it at the bottom. I'm a little concerned that maybe collapsing and expanding a lot might wear out the folds and it might crack, but for now there hasn't been any evidence of that happening. My main gripe with this mug is that although it's supposed to be able to handle temperatures up to 180 degrees, it's not really insulated so it can be too hot too hold, but of course it's still good for cold beverages. All in all, this is a solid product with a few small annoyances. If you plan to use it for hot drinks (as I was), I'd give it three stars, if you will only have cold drinks, I'd probably give it four.UPDATE: After several weeks of use, I'm satisfied with this product, I've figured out how to hold it by the rim so I don't get burned and also noticed that it doesn't pour well, but I'd keep my original three star rating.

Nice idea, but...
...whatever your food smells like at your last meal, be prepared to smell it again. I have tried washing these over and over again, but the smell of the Backpacker's Pantry Pad Thai will not come out. After eating Louisiana Red Beans and Rice out of the same bowl, the smell got worse. All of the collapsible bowls and mugs from Sea to Summit retain the odors... coffee, noodle soup, hot chocolate, etc. Everything we made smelled terrible because of the retention of odors. These had replaced our titanium bowls and mugs to save space in our pack, but we will NEVER use these again. Going back to titanium.

Reduces oropharyngeal impaction...I swear
I have one stashed in my Mr. Bento lunch bag. It hangs out at the bottom and fits great. Agreed with other reviews that a cover would be nice for it but I simply use a sandwich lunch bag. Smell seems to be a big concern with a lot of people but what I noticed is sometimes it picks up a slight smell from dishwasher but really thats dumb dishwasher residue that is on everything you wash in the dishwasher and not specfic to this product. Hot stuff good, cold stuff good. I use as said in daily work lunch box and I dump those fancy water enhancers in mine cause I am too cheap to buy a Coke. If it holds up to those modern chemically induced kool-aid reactions it'll probably hold up to your needs. You're here, pull the trigger and make the purchase. I got the sexy gray one because gray reduces oropharyngeal impaction! Haha I jest..I jest..I like fancy words and fancy collapsing cups.

Excellent Purse-Sized Retractable Cup.
I have been searching for a sturdy and reliable retractable cup for some time now. Ages ago, in Girl Scouts, I had a metal "official" Girl Scout retractable cup, it was so useful, and I kept it for years. Well, that was a long time ago, the cup has long since disappeared, and I have not been able to replace it.I discovered this cup while searching on Amazon, it seemed to have all of the qualities for which I was searching. But, I was not sure if any retractable cup could ever replace my beloved Girl Scout model. This cup arrived and I was pleased with it from the very first moment. It is light, very flexible, and I love the cheery fluorescent green color of the cup. The top opening portion of the cup is wide, and surrounded by a black supportive and stabilizing ring.I opened it to its full size quite easily, it is a bit trickier to close. However, after some practice I learned to place even pressure on all side when I wished to close it. This is a very handy item for those needing to take medication, and unable to do so while using a water fountain. It is also perfect for use with a water cooler that has no cups, and it is certainly "green" in that you are not making constant use of disposable paper cups.. I carry it in my purse, it is quite thin when fully retracted and fits easily inside of my smaller purses.I recommend this as a very useful item for many, but in particular for those needing a cup of water for use with medications. The quality appears to be high, and I love the many cheery colors available from which to choose.
