Yes it does. Even with my case on it but it is a slimline case.

Will this fit the Samsung note 20 ultra?

It should. The S20 ultras height is 6.6". Where the note 20 ultra is 6.5". With the former being slightly heavier. Plus I have a case on mine. It should.

Will this fit iphone xs max with the otterbox defender case on it?

My OnePlus 7 Pro phone and iPhone 11 can accommodate comfortably. Total width of the phone holder can accommodate maximum about 86mm. Hope this helps.
