Love this pool shock 68%Calcium Hypochlorite
I did a lot of research before I purchased this DryTec brand of hypochlorite chlorine pool shock. I usually use โIn The Swim โbrand of chemicals in my pool but when I was on Amazon I came across the DryTec . It got great reviews. I used my perplexity AI search engine and googled it as well. Nice high quality product works well . Itโs 68% Calcium Hypochlorite. So itโs nice and strong. It keeps my water crystal clear. Itโs very easy to use. I have an in ground gunite pool so I just open the bag and disperse it over the water in my deep end.My pool had 33,000 gallons of water so I use 3 one pound bags per application. I usually use it preventively once every 4 weeks. I donโt understand what a company that makes compressed air equipment has to do with pool chemicals but this company makes a great pool shock. I get the 24 pack size it was $114 last time I ordered it which is a great price. Itโs is as good or better than the In The Swim shock I use to use.

Powerful and Reliable Pool Shock for Crystal Clear Water
Powerful and Reliable Pool Shock for Crystal Clear Water This 24-pack of Drytec 1-pound calcium hypochlorite bags has been a real workhorse in keeping my pool sparkling. Each bag is individually sealed, making it simple to grab one, cut it open, and pour without mess. I like that the packaging is compact and easy to store in the garage, and the dosing is straightforwardโone bag at a time keeps me from over- or under-chlorinating. Performance-wise, this shock works quickly. I usually add it in the evening, and by the next morning the water is clear, bright, and free of that slightly cloudy look that creeps up during heavy use. Itโs strong enough to handle algae blooms after a stretch of hot weather but doesnโt leave any noticeable residue once fully dissolved. A couple of things to keep in mind: this is calcium hypochlorite, so it does raise calcium levels over time. That isnโt a problem for me since my pool water tends to run soft, but if you already have high calcium hardness, youโll want to monitor it to avoid scaling. Also, because itโs strong, I always pre-dissolve in a bucket and add it slowly to avoid bleaching spots on the liner. Bottom line: A reliable, cost-effective pool shock thatโs easy to use and keeps water crystal clearโjust keep an eye on calcium levels if your pool runs hard water.

Great Product at a reasonable price
This product is an excellent choice for pool maintenance. It's much better than shock with stabilizer, in my opinion. Here's why: - Using shock with stabilizer in it for extended periods will cause your cyanuric acid levels to rise above limits and leave your chlorine ineffective (useless, if high enough). - Calcium Hypochlorite is a better product than stabilized chlorine, and it's normally much more expensive than stabilized chlorine. It's only cheaper now because resellers bought out the stabilized shock and are now reselling it to you at a significant profit) - To use Calcium Hypochlorite, just stabilize your pool with cyanuric acid (available on Amazon). Once you reach the desired PPM (parts per million), you won't have to add any more. It does not evaporate (which, btw, is the problem with stabilized shock ... you keep putting in more cyanuric acid every time you shock). - Important: get your PH up to 7.4 (7.2 - 7.6), and keep it there, and your algae problems will diminish significantly. - Also, treat your pool with algaecide to keep algae from growing. Shock will kill algae, but its purpose is to kill harmful bacteria. Algae is just annoying

Crystal-Clear Results
I recently tried DryTec 1-1901-24 Calcium Hypochlorite Pool Shock for my swimming pool and was quite impressed with the results. This pool shock effectively eliminated algae and bacteria, restoring the water to a crystal-clear state. The fast-dissolving granules made application quick and easy, and I noticed a significant improvement in water clarity shortly after treatment. I also appreciated the product's ability to maintain the chlorine levels in my pool, ensuring that the water remained safe and hygienic for swimming. The shock's long shelf life allowed me to store it for extended periods without worrying about its efficacy diminishing over time. Overall, I found DryTec 1-1901-24 Calcium Hypochlorite Pool Shock to be a dependable and effective solution for pool maintenance. It provided the sanitizing power my pool needed, and I would certainly recommend it to other pool owners looking for a reliable pool shock treatment.

Works great
I've been using this product for 3 years now and it works great. I don't understand why there are complaints since two packages shock my ~22,000 gallon pool perfectly every 2 weeks. I live in Oklahoma where the summer temps get to 105-110F and this has no trouble shocking my pool. You should shock after the sun goes down with dusk light (same adding chlorine) and ensure you broadcast the product into a water jet stream to ensure total dispersion and it shouldn't touch the bottom of the pool. My pool is 3.5ft to 6ft in the deep end. I broadcast a lighter amount in the shallow end. If you have imbalanced water that might be part of some issues. Or maybe some aren't broadcasting properly. But what is the likely culprit is the use of those 3" chlorinating tablets with added stabilizer (cyanuric acid). If you're using this then over the summer your cyanuric acid level will rise too high and prevent the chlorine from doing it's job. When I couldn't find that Sam's Club chlorine tablets during COVID-19 I asked my pool supply store about using Clorox bleach. They told me I should never use it but I had no choice and I've never looked back. It works perfectly!! For over two years now. I buy the 3gl pack from Sam's club and add 1/4 bottle M, W & F. I then add Sam's Club algaecide every other Saturday. Then I shock every other Sunday but sometimes I forget. I've never had a more maintenance free pool in over 16 years!! Oh, I also use cheap Amazon hairnets (100 for ~$8) as a pre-filter in my skimmer basket. I actually enjoy having a pool now. My big complaint is that the cost of this shock has doubled over the last 3 summers.

Shock & Awe: The Terminator of Pool Shocks
I travel frequently, sometimes for extended periods of time, which makes pool maintenance without hiring a service a real pain. This is particularly troublesome with an in-ground pool in Florida in Summer that has no shade. I waited to post a review until after I'd ordered 2 separate batches to test for quality control, and quite simply: this is the BEST shock I've ever used. I've come back from trips to solid green slime pits with heavy stripes of the dreaded black spot algae, and 2-3bags of this stuff + a couple of chlorine tablets with the filter running will turn my pool back to blue overnight. Like other reviewers, I have noticed that my water is a little cloudy the next 24-32hrs--- but in my case, I chalk that up to so much dead organic material & algae that needs to be filtered out. This stuff kills ALL the nasty stuff--- but until it's vacuumed or filtered out, it's still in the water. It works when nothing else does, and does a better & faster job. It's also priced very competitively. If you have a problem pool, or a problem with regular maintenance, this stuff is AMAZING. It terminates even the most durable, hardened, and persistent algae with extreme prejudice, you just have to give your vacuum or filter a chance to clear the battlefield of all the millions of algae corpses once it's finished annihilating them, and then declare unconditional victory. If you're just looking for regular pool maintenance, this may be a little strong for your needs. I will say that when I'm around to take care of it, one bag of this every 2-3 weeks, plus a couple of chlorine tablets does the trick (without cloudiness). Where it really shines though is in rehabilitating seemingly terminally green monsters back into beautiful blue pools.
