Pretty Great Knife
I've owned this knife for a while now and I was a little reluctant to like it, at first I couldn't figure out why, then I realized it was just that I was used to my Mora 2000 (Very similar blade shape and profile). The tip is just about center of the blade, whereas the Mora 2000 has more belly at the point. I was also a little thrown off by the squared handle shape, that is until I really had to use it wet and slimy. This thing is grippy as heck, I never felt like it would roll in my hand, or slip when it was wet or slimy (I was cleaning some fish with it). I started to use it a lot more when I took it along camping and kinda really started to like it. I don't use it as a boot knife, I just run a locking s-biner through the clip and hang it from a belt loop on my side. I can take it off easy, and it swings around enough to be out of the way when I need to sit down. When I tried to clip it to my belt using just the clip it was a very snug fit and really didn't move or swing at all, which was awful when you need to sit, and worse case it might pop off your belt. On the plus side the clip is VERY strong, it was designed for a boot carry, and I am fairly certain it would hold the sheath in place well if used in that manner. I would not think the number 2 model would fit in a boot well, it's fairly long and large, I would prefer the number 3 model for that since it is smaller. Overall this is a very good knife with a mildly convexed scandi grind that will cut through wood very well and will serve any other utilitarian purposes just as good. The blade is not super thick, but isn't so thin that I fear it might break under normal use, the thinner blade makes a better slicer anyway. It's thicker than the Mora 2000, and would stand up to more abuse than that knife. For the money I think this is a great deal, and if you want a midsize budget knife for a multitude of uses this is a win in my book.

Still a Value at current price
Cold steel has done it again with the Cold Steel Peace Maker Tactical Fixed Blade Knife, Very nice, made with quality German 4116 steel. Sharp impressive feeling in hand, comes with a secure x sheath. The sheath is for Right or left carry, only complaint I have is the sheath as it has full slab on inside and out so when you grab the knife it can cause pressure to keep knife in. Over all this is a very nice utility knife for use in everyday carry when working the ranch. Although I am not a fan of the sheath, this is a GREAT Value at this price, and I recommend this knife enough that I will get a second one for camping.

Good knife for $25
The steel is German 4116, which is mainly what you'd find in a run of the mill kitchen knife which is functional steel but otherwise rather unimpressive, and it did arrive razor sharp out of the box without any rolls or nicks along the edge and that's far more than I can say for some knives for the same cost so it's a quality blade. JoeX did a destruction review on Youtube, and I agree with the results the knife appears to be ill suited for hard tasks such as a survival knife. You're not going to use it for throwing or for chopping through nails without damaging it, but as a straightforward cutting tool for normal use it will do the job and I think it is also perfectly viable as a self defense knife. The tip and point is sharp, and it's going in anything fleshy and through fabric with ease. Not a lot to really talk about with the sheath. It's functional, and sleek enough to where you can clip it inside the pocket or even in the waistband and it will easily conceal. The two "wings" appear to be flimsy but despite do look like you can get some longevity out of this sheath if it isn't abused. My biggest critique is with the handle. For my hands, I found it to be on the thin side. I wish it had a little more girth, but the rubberized handle material does afford you a good purchase when you grasp that handle. All in all, I think it's worth the $25 I paid for it.

Surprisingly good!
I have to say that I didn’t expect a whole lot from a $20 knife. That being said, this knife was much better than I anticipated. This knife is surprisingly light, almost too light. Heftiness is quite often associated with quality, but despite the light weight, this knife appears to be solid. The blade is made from German 4116 steel and comes razor sharp out of the box. I actually cut my arm mimicking a slashing motion while protesting a film choice by a friend. I didn’t even feel it or notice it till the characteristic blood line appeared on my arm. Now that’s sharp! I have to say that I love that in a knife. Be advised if you’re looking for a heavy duty bushcraft knife, it would probably do you better to look elsewhere, but for the minimal investment it takes to get you one of these knives, the quality you get is well worth it. I’m tempted to get another just so I carry around two. If you’re on the fence about this one, go for it, you have very little to lose.

Exactly what I hoped for & more.
I am very pleased with this knife. Cold Steel has a reputation for their exceptional knives, and this is no disappointment. I am a backpacker, and love the outdoors. This is an excellent knife for both bushcraft and self-defense. Many blades designed for bushcraft don't lend themselves to self-defense because of their smaller size, and most self-self-defense knives are far too beefy for the smaller tasks involved in bushcraft. The Peace Maker II gives the best of both worlds. The grip is perfect for left or right hand use, and when wet, there is no slippage. Out of the box, this knife was razor sharp, and the sheath fit snugly. Overall, this knife will perform every task it was designed to perform. To address some people's concerns; Cold Steel is an American manufacturer with distribution and offices located in several places. While the country of assembly may be Taiwan, the steel is still American in origin and make. Many American companies do this, and there is no drop in quality. Also, many people buy a knife expecting it to do things it isn't made to do. You can't buy a 3.5 inch blade and expect it to become a hatchet or fighting blade. Buy a knife specifically made for what you intend to do. I don't expect to be taking down a 900 lb bear with a 5 inch knife. All that said, this is a knife that will always be on my belt when I am hiking, camping and working outdoors. Good job Cold Steel.

Let me start this review by saying this is a great value. I bought it to replace my wife's KA-BAR that we lost, and although you can't replace a 1940's USMC KA-BAR with a story behind it with anything; this here is a solid knife. PROS: Excellent construction. Very firm grip. good balance. Ergonomic. Easy to sharpen. Fantastic sheath. CONS: You may not like this knife if you have larger hands. It is perfect for smaller folk and females, though. The texture of the handle is great for gripping even when wet or sweaty. I have always liked drop point designs. This is not a difficult knife to sharpen. I like the guard a lot and I like the overall appearance and shape. Again, the sheath is excellent. Just to iterate I use a SOG Navy SEAL for my go-to large knife. I can beat it to death. This Cold Steal (pun intended) is pretty nice and looks like it would also hold up really well.

The Big Brother Budget Peacemaker
First, let me say that I have both of these "budget" C.S. Peacemakers, both 2 and 3 and love them both. The difference between the two is size, with this being the larger of the two. They are an outstanding choice for a fixed blade knife, but don;t for a minute think because they are marketed as a "boot knife" that they don't excel at wood working, and general use, because they do. Some may snub their nose at the 4116 Krupp steel, but I have never had a problem with it, and for value, and keeping the cost down, I like it. This knife has a unique blade design that makes it good for self defense as well as a scani-grind for an easy to sharpen usefulness. If I was pushed to look for negatives I might have two, both of which are intermingled with positives. 1) The handle is very boxy, and squared off. However, this also gives it a low-profile as a boot knife. The lanyard hole (and why would you want that in a boot knife?) shows that this is probably a full tang knife. 2) The clip on the sheath is tighter than any knife I know! Which is a good thing if it's in your boot! You own it to yourself to buy at least one of these knives and decide for yourself. I did...and quickly bought the other one too!

Cold Steel Value
Another great value from Cold Steel. I love this knife for what is is, a good cheap multi-use knife. I also have always liked the blade profile of these knives. I have the Mora Forest knife which is the same blade profile as this knife. But I gotta say I prefer this knife over the Mora. Don't get me wrong, Mora puts out great, cheap knives. But this version I feel edges out Moras for a few of reasons. First, the CS version blade is twice as thick as Moras. On the Mora blade, when the blade takes it's drastic thinning nearly halfway to the point, that end is pretty thin. Because Mora uses a thinner blade, the distal taper end looks like it wouldn't hold up to thrusting that well. The end looks like it would bend at a right angle if thrust very hard into anything. With the CS version, the blade is twice as thick, so the distal taper is thicker as well. In fact, the tapered point is as thick as the thickest part of the blade on the Mora. Second, price. The Mora is about $5 dollars more than the CS knife. Also the CS blade is over an inch longer than the Mora, giving you more edge to work with. Third, if you ever go to Mora's site, you can see a cutout of their blades and see that all Mora blades are 3/4 tang. The CS knife (according to CS) is full tang. Overall the CS knife is just a better value. However, I do prefer the Mora sheath and handle just a bit more to the CS sheath and handle. But both offer a hard rubber handle that excels at grip. Plus the CS knife also comes with a lanyard hole. With similar steels, there isn't much difference in performance. For those who are not a fan of the sheath and want a more traditional carry option, you can use a Ka-Bar leather sheath for their short (5 inch) knives. I had a black one laying around and it fits the knife like a glove. And the Ka-Bar sheaths are pretty good quality for the price (usually under $10). So I ditched the plastic sheath that came with this knife and use the leather sheath for a more traditional carry. I would recommend this knife for anyone looking for a great multi-use knife.

A melhor

Absolutely awesome
I sure didn't expect a knife at this price point to be THIS sharp out of the box. This is a great knife to carry - it's light, very well made, pretty flat (takes little space), and comes with a nice sheath. Handle is very ergonomic despite being pretty flat. Not as sturdy compared to something like Mora Garberg, but equally nice and useful in it's own way. Love it, will buy more once the price is right again.
