ZIWI Peak Air-Dried Dog Food – Venison - All Natural, High Protein, Grain Free, Limited Ingredient w/ Superfoods (16oz)

This is just the kind of food my bougie dog needed. I have a pomsky that has always been super snobby, I mean, picky, about her food. I saw this food in a local store, and after reading the reviews here on Amazon, I ordered a bag. From the smell alone, she was already excited to get her dinner. She gobbled it up so quick. Because the price point is a little high, we always do a half scoop of this food, then another half scoop of some other kibble on top of it. More often than not, my pup will sort out the other kibble and only eat this food. She is now consistently eating her breakfast and dinner every day, rather than choosing to skip meals because she isn't into the food. I like that the food is mostly meat and not full of fillers. And the fact that my dog loves it so much tells me it's a high-quality, tasty food. I've been a repeat buyer of this brand, and all the flavors are a hit with my picky eater.

Our dog became uninterested in her food. She is 8 years old and checked out completely healthy with our vet. We tried all kinds of food and this is a winner. Not only did it entice her, but she loves it. We are so pleased. Ziwi Peak is healthy and must taste great because our girl, Sydnie, loves it. The food is pricey, but our dog deserves a healthy, high quality food.

This dog food is Absolutely amazing! My senior dog has been refusing all food. I cook her filet mignon, New York steaks, salmon, catfish cod and she thumbs her nose up at it plus, I don’t think she was getting complete meals with my homemade food and then I switched to Ziwi Peak and she’s made a complete turnaround. I’ve ordered two different recipes and she loves them both. I will never ever buy any other dog food. Thank you and boy Is this stuff healthy. Her poop is absolutely gorgeous.

This stuff is so worth it, and when you do the math, it's actually a bargain. More on that later.... Some background: My dog is an 80 pound American Pit Bull Terrier. He is the love of my life (ok, he's a tie with my husband). He has horrible allergies, both environmental and food. Because of this, his doggie dermatologist (yep, there's dermatologists out there just for animals!) has him on an elimination diet of just venison. Being that I completely spoil my dog I've been looking for high quality venison treats to feed him when I stumbled upon the ZiwiPeak venison on Amazon. I'd not heard of ZiwiPeak, but when I looked at how few ingredients were in there and did a little research, I decided it sounded about as close to bambi in a bag as I could get (sorry, I know that's a sad visual...). So, I ordered a few bags of the ZiwiPeak Venison treats. Titan went mad for them. It was as if I was sprinkling him with magical venison fairy dust and he would do anything so long as I would continue to shower him with those heavenly venison squares. You see, it's raw air dried venison, and it comes in these little compact squares about the size of a dime of venison jerky. But it's still soft, almost velvety, as it is still raw. Titan suffers from a tiny case of separation anxiety, so recently when I had to leave him alone for a while and I was fresh out of bambi bones, I put a handful on top of his food and tip toed towards the door. He barely lifted his head from the bowl. For insurance, I threw a half empty bag of the ZiwiPeak Venison treats on the floor just as I slipped out the door...he noticed the bag, but kept eating from his bowl, pushing it around and digging through the kibble with his nose to sniff out the ZiwiPeak squares as if a pig searching for truffles in the south of France. When I returned a couple of hours later, I searched the house for evidence that he wasn't pleased with my departure. Apart from the garbage being knocked over (my fault for leaving it full, bad mom!) the place was fine. Later when I went to put down his dinner, Titan sat at the entrance of the kitchen and stared at the cabinet where the venison treats were kept. When I told him to go and eat, he stayed put, staring at the cabinet. I added a little canned venison to entice him. No go. Finally I poured a little bit of the ZiwiPeak Venison on top and he ran to his bowl and started eating. Now, he will not go near the bowl unless there is a hefty portion of ZP in there. Figuring I could save some money, I moved up from the treats to the 2.2 pound bag. Once I went through that in a week, I moved on to the 11 pound bag. I haven't made the complete transition to just ZP in his bowl, as I'm still mixing it in with his old stuff, but it's just a matter of time. The vet has had Titan on one of those vet prescribed diets, which, when I looked at the ingredients on that bag, not only could I not pronounce most of them, but the list was HUGE and the first ingredient was POTATO! But back to my point: I've bought venison treats for Titan that were anywhere from $10 for 5 or 6 ounces, (which translates to $30 per pound) to $44 per pound for venison jerky (and I paid it!!). So, at $9 a pound, the ZiwiPeak Venison is actually a bargain. And, it is high quality. Not to mention, you know how sometimes your dog eats a bowl of food and then throws up and the vomit looks like a mixture of spongy kibble and foam? Titan's never had that with this stuff. I think it's because the ZP is so close to the natural thing that there isn't anything in there to cause it to expand which then causes him to throw up. So yes, overall, I'm very happy with the product line. I think it's a pretty cool thing that I can use his food as treats and he still goes mad for it (much like a toddler with cheerios!). I'll be experimenting with some of the other varieties once I'm allowed to introduce other foods per the doggie dermatologist; and I will be trying out the ZP canned as well.

We have been feeding our dog ZIWI for almost the past year as it is good food. As many customers noted though, diarrhea is a problem with this ZIWI Peak. With us, guaranteed diarrhea on its own, but when mixed with a kibble with some filler in it, or Blue Buffalo Life Protection Formula, rare chance. Just a note. IT IS NON-RETURNABLE, EVEN WITH UNOPENED PACKAGES! First appears while filling out multiple request info as though it can be returned. On submission, they then tell you it cannot be returned. What a waste of time and money.

My pit bull and frenchie LOVE these!! I add it to their food for a soft texture but I use them mostly as training treats. My super food motivated Frenchie goes nuts for these. Definitely love the ingredients and I have had zero issues with their bellies. They’re easy to break apart into smaller pieces but they’re small enough to use as high protein treats. They love the taste/smell of them for sure.

I bought a bag for my dogs early in 2025 and it was small square pieces it stunk like fish but they seemed to like it. So even thought it is super expensive I bought another bag later fall and just opened it. It doesn’t stink at all but looks just like kibble from the store they don’t seem as interested in it. I’m not sure why it looks different but the pictures of the product they are selling still looks the same as the first stuff I got. Did something change?

Great quality food but way too expensive. What I do with these is use them as treats instead. These make for cheaper treats than most but are well balance and very healthy for your dog. My very very picky dog likes them and I feel better about giving him extra treats when this is technically food.

食べムラあり、好き嫌いありの2匹です。 もう1年くらいこちらをちゃんと食べてますが、あと数種類のご飯を様子見て朝晩、とか3日おきとか食べ具合を見てサイクルを変えて上げています。 味はビーフとラム(2.5キロ入り)を交互に、時々サーモン(500gぐらいのやつ) あとはK○のビーフとラムにグリーントライプのローテーションです。 食べないと心配になってしまい、病院に連れて行っても元気で異常なしで、自分にもストレスかかるので食べてくれる物だけ厳選してます。 どれもカロリー高めではあるので、本当に要らないときは犬達は自分で調節してるようで3分の1程度残す時もありますが、元気なので気にならなくなりました。 色々試してみましたが上記以外の高価なものでもダメでした（泣） 食べなかったら片付けるとかの良いと言われる事もしましたが効果なし。散歩は毎日1時間＋家の中での激しいワンプロ＆追いかけっこ、庭も走らせますが無駄。 無駄に飼い主がヘトヘトに(笑) もう1年くらい経ちますが食べてますし、フードジプシーやめれたのでヨシとしてます。 更に近々パピーが来ます。 いずれ破産するかもね(笑) それでも犬達には食べてもらいますが。

Das Hundefutter wird von unserem Docs sehr gern gefressen lediglich der Preis ist meiner Meinung nach viel zu hoch. Sicher gibt es Leute die das zahlen für Ihren Vierbeiner aber ich denke 28 € für ein Kilo sind eindeutig viel zu viel. Weiterhin haben wir festgestellt dass das Futter nach ca 10 Monaten eine helle weiße Schicht bekommt ob das Futter dann noch genießbar ist kann ich nicht sagen die haben das dann entsorgt. Da wäre es beim Hersteller mal anzufragen ob das normal ist oder nicht

This is super premium and expensive. My dog likes it, well he likes all kinds of food but on ziwipeak, I couldn't maintain his weight though I increased the recommended feeding portion. I have switched to Abady but that's so hard to get food but good news is that he's putting on weight gradually.
