Will this lens work with the Sony A6000?

It will work yes. This lens is a E-mount lens and the A6000 also uses the E-mount.

Is this lens good for shooting landscapes or is it good for close ups? Help!!!

Not exactly a landscape lens, but yes can be utilized for landscapes...on the A6000 it has good reach and fast auto focus, on the A7r it has lovely IQ but slower...if you add a Canon 500D or 250D Close Up Lens to it (Screws onto the front of lens and it's a small threaded lens) you can shoot very nice close ups with it...http://acwilli.smugmug.com/Partial-Eclipse/....http://acwilli.smugmug.com/A7r-70-200-Canon-500D/...

Given this is a full frame lens, what compromise does it have pairing it with NEX6, which is not a full frame camera?

On the NEX 6 this lens has a focal length equivalent to 105-300mm on a full frame camera such as the a7r. I don't have a NEX 6, but it works beautifully on an a6000.

Does this FE 70-200mm lens mount directly on an A7 camera, or is an adapter required?

the second answer is wrong. this lens has the E mount.
