My full review after a month! : So I have two cats that need two different diets. One cat that is a food stealer and one very timid girl. Timid cat was eating food stealer's prescription food but it made her turn into a chonk. So we needed a solution that would give timid cat her own private bowl that food stealer couldn't get to, and her own food for weight management. I couldn't just give timid cat her own kind of food because food stealer would steal it all and food stealer wouldn't eat her prescription food, which she needs. So I asked the vet how to help a cat lose weight, he suggested scheduled feeding. I researched online how other people have handled scheduled feeding, and soooooo many people suggested SureFeed feeders as the holy grail of solutions. I was a bit intimidated by the price initially (worth every penny). But I saw it as how I see humans, if I can avoid a problem from getting worse, it'll save me money in the long run. I had spent over $1,000 on food stealer's GI diagnosis already and timid cat was probably on her way to pre-diabetic if I didn't do something. So after a few trial and error with feeding them in separate rooms, the absolute hassle and refusal from the cats to make that work.. I said okay, these feeders are beyond worth paying for to try out. And I am so glad that I did. For me, so far, they are the holy grail. Every problem I was having with food stealer and timid, have been fully resolved with the feeders. They each eat their own meal plan, in their own bowl, and they can't mix. Timid has lost weight already with her weight management food, and stealer is happily eating her GI food. Timid, who is also a grazer, can graze on her own time (Later I will include how timid got used to the feeder itself, because she is..well..timid; I used the collar tag for training!) without stealer eating the wrong food. And timid has gotten much more comfortable knowing that stealer can't bother her feeder. Setup: Setup was easy. Unbox, place where you want it, the large button opens the feeder, add food, click the +pet button to have the feeder detect your pet's microchip. It detects it really easily within a few seconds. You can reprogram that anytime, I did for timid's collar tag. You just hold down the +pet button for 10 seconds, then add the new one. I accidentally put the feeder in training mode not knowing what that button (or training mode) was and had to turn the feeder off and back on and read the directions. If you hit the training mode button and think you broke something....you didn't! Lol. It's probably training mode and you need to read the directions. My cats didn't need the back protector, stealer is thankfully happy using her own feeder. But you could easily use a box (like other people) or put it up against a wall/corner with something to block a side. Adapting to the feeder/how they handled it: I put food in each feeder, and sat them near their old bowls. I used timid cat's original food to start, so she had some familiarity at first. BEFORE letting timid cat in the room, I had stealer in the room alone to show her the feeder and how it opens. She is a glutton so as long as she knows food is in there and she just has to walk up to it for it to give her that food she is good to go. Next was introducing timid. I took stealer out of the room. I opened the feeder for timid and let her sniff. She knew the food was there but didn't want to walk up to it, so I took the food out and sat it in front of the feeder. She ate from it like that for a few days but we needed her to eat from the feeder. Now we have a third cat with food downstairs, and I didn't want timid to get desperate and go eat from that bowl. She needed to learn her own. So we kept timid in HER room for a week to ensure she would get used to her own bowl (letting her out only when supervised). During that week I gradually put the bowl in the feeder more, but left the flap open. Then mid way through the week I closed it. Per the vet, if she is hungry enough, she will use it. And she did. After a day and a half of only drinking water, her instincts kicked in and she opened it herself for the first time (she knew how it worked the whole time, she just didn't like the "opening sound") and over the rest of the week she opened it herself more, and more, and more times. It's been a month now, and she uses it completely normally. Another tip that worked SO well for getting a timid cat used to the feeder was using the included microchip collar tag. At first timid cat didn't like getting too close, but her microchip in her back made it to where she needed to get pretty under there for the flap to open. So I thought "the tag is closer to her face and would open it sooner". So during training I used the collar tag so it wouldn't open right in her face startling her, it opened sooner before she was really close to it and opened gradually as she walked up to it. Shipping: -Ordered 2 of the first gen (the one without the app) because I didn't want the app. Just wanted to keep things simple so I got the regular feeders. They arrived together, on time, and were the correct items. -Included with the feeder: a microchip tag, 2 bowls, a mat, offer for 3 year warranty, and instructions. -Size of feeder: per the box diagram 200mm height x 320mm length. Bowl is 400ml.

Too expensive, especially considering it doesn’t even come with the C battery you need to use it. But besides that it works perfectly. It is easy to train your cat on. You don’t have to stick their head all the way under the bar, which I was scared you’d have to do. It’s easy for the cats to learn and it’s easy to use. My cats were scared of the noise at first, but it didn’t take them long to learn it.

Summary: These feeders have been extremely effective in a multi pet household with grazers and one food motivated pet. Our pets range from a 6 lb miniature dog and a small dog around 20 lb to a 10 lb cat and a 15 lb cat, and each one can safely eat their own food without interference while portions stay controlled. Full Review: We currently own four of these selective feeders from SureFlap and use them daily in a mixed household with cats and dogs. Our pets range from a 6 lb miniature dog, a small dog around 20 lb, a 10 lb cat, and a 15 lb cat, and the feeders recognize them reliably. Three feeders are programmed directly to individual microchips, and one is programmed using the included collar tag for a temporary visiting dog. Programming was straightforward, and it is possible to assign more than one pet to a single feeder if needed. The feeders can also be fully reset to clear all programmed pets, which made it easy to reassign one when our household situation changed. Training took a little repetition, but it was easier than expected. We started by placing treats directly in front of the opening and inside the tray so our pets naturally learned to put their face in the correct spot. For two pets that trust handling, I gently guided their bodies and showed them that placing their head near the opening would trigger the lid. It took all of our furbabies a few tries to get used to it. Our small dog’s ears do brush the sides of the opening, which confused him at first when trying to get to his own food. However, that did not stop him from trying to put his head into the other pets’ feeders to see if they would open for him. Thankfully, they did not. These feeders have been a game changer for a household with grazers and one pet that would otherwise overeat. Our grazers can eat when they are hungry without their food being stolen, and the food motivated pet can no longer access meals that are not theirs. It has also stopped two of our grazers from eating each other’s food, which was important for maintaining proper nutrition since one is a small dog and the other is a cat. The only time the system fails is when someone forgets to close a feeder after filling it. In our house that occasionally happens with kids or busy mornings, and the pets will absolutely take advantage of an open feeder. As long as the lids are closed properly, the selective access works exactly as intended. The fourth feeder was added specifically to protect the visiting dog’s food from the other pets. Using the collar tag worked just as reliably as the microchip programming and gave us flexibility for a short term situation. We also upgraded the bowls to the stainless steel version for easier cleaning and labeled each SureFlap feeder with the pet’s initial so we can easily keep track of which feeder is programmed to which pet. ✅ Pros: • Effectively prevents food stealing • Works well for both cats and small dogs • Allows grazers to eat on their own schedule • Supports different diets in the same household • Microchip and collar tag options are both reliable • Feeders can be reset and reprogrammed as needs change ⛔️ Cons: • There can be minor differences in sensor sensitivity between units. Some feeders open very quickly, while others require the pet to place their face closer to the sensor. This temporarily confused one of our cats during training, but with a little repetition they adjusted and now use it without issue. • I do wish the company offered additional size options for larger dogs. These work great for cats and small dogs, but a larger version would have been helpful for our extra large dog whose food was sometimes stolen by our food motivated cat. If they ever expanded the line for bigger dogs, an adjustable height option would also be beneficial so dogs could eat at a more comfortable height that supports their joints. ⭐ Final Thought: I would buy these again without hesitation and would recommend them to any multi pet household dealing with food stealing, portion control, or pets on different diets.

Was working fine until now. It’s been 3 months I bought it and now the feeder opens when my other cat presents its face only without any tag around her net. I am back with the same problem with the one cat eating all the food and the other is a slow eater. Very disappointing for that price.

This is a wonderful device that works perfectly and is very hard to find fault with. I bought it because my elderly cat was having his food stolen by a neighbour's cat and this exceeded all my expectations. It appears to have been improved too, as earlier reviews mention a noisy motor, which can scare cats, but mine is virtually silent. Some reviews also mention how cats can steal food from the side when it is open. But mine has clear plastic screens which help prevent this. Not only does this ensure my cat has the food he wants and the medication he needs, but, because he used to wake me up when there was no food available in the middle of the night, it means I get to sleep better too! It also provides mental stimulation as the cat learns to use it. It did take my cat a little while to get used to it but a cat's natural curiosity helps and it is well worth persevering. It has a training mode which also helps, but my top tip is to put some treats on the front tray. When the cat eats the treats, the main compartment opens and the cat gets a nice surprise that food becomes available! I also recommend setting the switch on the bottom to the slowest closing setting at first. This ensures it stays open for at least 20-30 seconds after the cat moves away so it stays open if the cat picks up some food to eat on the floor, as mine often does, or it just backs away temporarily to gain confidence. But after a while, the natural caution subsides and the cat is happy to use it. I'm summary, I can't recommend it enough. It is fairly compact, feels well constructed and does exactly what it is supposed to do. I only have one cat but I can imagine it is great for multi cat households where one cat needs special food or medicine. Perfect!!

Très bon produit. Fonctionne avec la puce des chats. Nous avons 2 chats avec des régimes différents, cela permet de bien Individualiser le régime de chacun. Très simple a mettre en œuvre, à nettoyer. Vraiment un super produit!

猫2頭飼いです。メタボ雄猫のダイエット用に購入しました。雌猫のご飯を奪ってしまいドンドン太っていき困っていましたが、 シェアーフィーダーを雌猫に使用したところ、メタボ猫が雌猫の餌を奪えなくなったので、食事調整ができてこの一ヶ月で体重が8.76kg→8.435kg に減量できました。目標は1年後6kg 台なので、期待できます。 お値段は高いと思いましたが、メタボ猫の成人病ならぬ成猫病のオンパレードになってしまい（現在内蔵脂肪、気道狭窄で喘息、関節炎、膀胱結石）こちらの症状改善が期待できるので、改善できるのでしたらありがたい品です。

Meglio in acciaio.” Ottimo distributore di cibo, perfetto per chi deve tener sotto controllo l’alimentazione o semplicemente evitare che più gatti si rubino il cibo a vicenda. Dispone anche di una modalità “addestramento” per i gatti più paurosi. La mia gatta ha imparato subito ad usarlo, già dalla memorizzazione del microchip. È semplice da usare e facile da pulire. L’unico problemino, come già specificato da altri acquirenti, è la chiusura del coperchio che anche se dispone di tre velocità non è immediato nella chiusura. Se un gatto è molto furbo può infilarsi subito dietro e mangiare. Al momento questo problema non mi riguarda, in quanto gli altri hanno paura dello sportello che si apre e chiude, e la gatta registrata non si allontana mai come finisce di mangiare, dando cosiddetto il tempo al coperchio di chiudersi prima che gli altri provino ad avvicinarsi. Come valutazione complessiva do comunque 5 stelle perché le merita, e quando tornerà in offerta provvederò ad acquistarlo anche per gli altri due gatti.
