Seems to work, enough for me to keep it stocked anyway.
I don’t have any hard evidence to support this, but it does SEEM to slow water evaporation and keep the temps up a bit (my pool is not heated). While the physical solar cover would undoubtedly work the best, it would probably lay outside of the pool more than it would on the water because of the kids being in and out constantly. This is a good compromise because at least I feel like there’s something doing the job 24/7. I would invest in a physical solar cover if I had a heater as the electricity cost would motivate my discipline to use the thing. BUT, I would still have this liquid cover because...why not?

This works
I did not want a plastic pool cover as our pool is also a "water feature", but wanted something to prevent/slow down water evaporation. This product does that, andas a result does keep the water somewhat warmer. Have been using it for several months and the product does not have any negative impact on the pool filter or pool maintenance. Have ordered for the second time and will continue to use.

Blown away by how it works!
I was a little skeptical about the fact that a liquid could form a film on the top of the water in a pool. I am unable to handle a cover but we keep our pool open all year here in Florida. I was completely blown away by how well this product kept the heat in the water during the cooler days we had over the winter. I installed a heater and this product pays for itself many times over by reducing the amount of time the heater runs to keep the temperature at the set point. I definitely recommend this product if you are looking for a easy way to keep the heat in your pool water!!!!!

Doesn't work as described
Got tired of removing and replacing the cover so I bought this product. My very warm pool got cold and the water evaporated much faster. Doesn't do any better than nothing at all.

Works
We use this every year. Usually 1 bottle lasts the summer. We have learned not to use to much because our inground pool got really warm the one year when we used to much. Works best to put it in before really warm days and not use the filter so it can rest onto of the water
