## Overview

The Gen 5 RideSafer vest-style car seat revolutionizes child safety with a compact, ultra-lightweight design that fits three children comfortably in one vehicle row. Certified to exceed FMVSS 213 standards, it offers versatile belt compatibility and is perfect for families on the move, rideshares, and caregivers seeking convenience without compromising safety.

## Description

RideSafer is a safe, convenient, easy, ultra-portable and comfortable alternative to booster seats and car seats. It is more convenient for travel, carpool, and/or multi-child families, and perfect for frequent taxi/Uber rides.

## Features

- IT IS UNCONVENTIONAL and INNOVATIVE. This is a vest type Child Restraint System and uses a revolutionary technology to increase safety for the little traveler by optimizing the adult seat belt to fit 2 and 3-year-olds.
- IT IS SAFE AND LEGAL. This is certified for use in motor vehicles, meets or exceeds all applicable FMVSS 213 requirements so is legal to use in all states and territories of the U.S.
- IT IS COMPACT, ULTRA-LIGHTWEIGHT, AND PORTABLE. This is perfect for a family travel, fits 3-children in the same row of a vehicle with comfort and ease; ridesharing, taxi, or rental car. Great for grandparents and caregivers because it’s lightweight and easy to install and use.
- IT CAN BE USED WITH OR WITHOUT TETHER. This is to use with a vehicle lap belt and top tether by securing the vest with a top tether anchor in the vehicle. Also, this can be used with a lap and shoulder belt with or without a tether strap.
- WHO CAN USE IT? The Extra Small (XS) size is recommended for children about 2 years and older, weighing 26.5–40 lb and measuring 30–45 in tall. Note: Some pre–Dec 5, 2024 units list a 22 lb minimum. Both versions are safe, tested, and compliant — the difference reflects a regulatory change, not a design or safety issue.
- AIR TRAVEL NOTICE: The RideSafer Vest is NOT FAA approved for use on aircraft. It is certified for use in motor vehicles under FMVSS 213 and requires a tether with lap-only seatbelts.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I drove a friend's child who was wearing this vest. She could lean down and put her chin on her knees while wearing it. Is there a way to avoid this?**
A: Were you using the top tether or just a lap/shoulder belt? If the vest was top-tethered I can't picture a kid leaning far down enough to be putting his/her chin to her knees. Some folks who might be better able to help you with this question are the certified child-passenger safety techs at the internet forum http://www.car-seat.org - they're very helpful and knowledgeable. Hope that helps!

**Q: Does this come with the back back, neck pillow and all the tethers? I can't find a lost in the description or pictures.**
A: As of October 2022, the manufacturer is no longer packaging the neck pillow with the RideSafer. This could change again in the future. Please check our website for the most up to date information about what comes with the RideSafer vest.

**Q: Does this come with a tether?**
A: Sometimes the retailer at which you are currently will resell returns with parts missing since they do not know what to check for. All vests should come with a tether strap.

**Q: What accessories does it come with?**
A: Update: The RideSafer now comes with tether strap, crotch strap and carrying bag. It no longer includes the neck pillow. You can purchase that separately at https://SafeRide4Kids.com
