## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is it touch screen**
A: No, it is not a touch screen. All operations are controlled by 5 physical buttons around the perimeter of the watch.

**Q: It is water proof?**
A: Yes. The Forerunner 45 is waterproof to 50 meters, so you can swim with it, though there are no swimming features here. I was once advised by a Garmin rep that its best to only press the button above water. Because the buttons are moving parts the seals around the buttons are usually where leaks start as the device ages.

**Q: Does the watch track elevation gain?**
A: If you're using GPS during an activity it will track elevation gain/loss. You'll be able to see this information in Garmin Connect on a graph after your activity has been uploaded to your account.

**Q: Will this watch track mountain biking without a smart phone?**
A: Yes it does track mountain and road biking without a smart phone, and you can upload the activity information to your smart phone app later. However, I found this watch sometimes slow in finding and connecting to GPS when starting workout.
