I’ve been taking selenium capsules for a couple of weeks now and have had a great experience. They’re easy to swallow after you get use to the smell, gentle on my stomach, and simple to add into my daily routine. dangers of excessive selenium supplementation
this supplement contains the amino acid methionine. high intake of methionine, particularly through supplements, may act as a tumor promoter, according to studies in animal models and some research on breast cancer. While essential for health, cancer cells often show a high dependency on methionine for growth, and reducing its intake has been shown to inhibit tumor proliferation in several studies (no need to believe me, google it!). so i had to buy blank capsules and empty half a selenium capsule into one, so i wouldnt OD on methionine. moreover, excessive selenium intake has also been linked to hair-loss, and everyone has a different threshold. for most people 200 mcgm of selenium may not cause hair loss, but you have no idea how far you will have gone with it, till you have gone far enough
