Reliable Multi-Handset System with Clear Calls and Easy Setup
Reliable Multi-Handset System with Clear Calls and Easy Setup This VTech CS6529-4 cordless phone set has been a very practical addition to our home. The four handsets give us coverage in multiple rooms, so no one is running to answer calls anymore. Setup was straightforward—just plug in the base and charging docks, and the phones were ready to go. The call clarity has been excellent, with no static or dropped calls so far. The DECT 6.0 technology really does help keep the line crisp, even with Wi-Fi and other electronics in the house. The answering system is simple but effective, and the caller ID/call waiting features work just as expected. I also like the backlit screens and keypads, which make it easy to use in the evening without straining. One thing to note: these handsets are lightweight, which is nice for handling, but they don’t feel as solid as some higher-end models. The menus take a little practice to navigate, but once you’re used to them, they’re intuitive enough. Bottom line: A dependable, easy-to-use multi-handset phone system that covers the basics very well—perfect for households needing multiple handsets and clear, reliable performance.

Affordable.
Buttons slick-so easy to miss &/or stay on target when putting in number. Good colors-wish it had more receivers.

110 v
Excellent phone, but only suitable for the United States, 110 voltage and even though Amazon states otherwise, the solution is to buy a compatible charger in China

Phenomenal Phones
Beautiful, deep rich red color, smooth lines, and easy to use. The screen is clear and the buttons are just the right size. I had no problems with functionality, and it worked excellently with my landline. The phones work well together, offering clear and concise clarity. I’ve since discontinued having a land line, but I’ve kept these phones in case I decide to return to using one. These phones are top notch.

Nice but Important features removed from the previous versions
The reason I did not give this 5 stars is because my favorite features on the older version have been removed. I've been using them for almost a decade and I just upgrade to the newer model every few years. One feature that has been removed is the older models intercom had two options. One option was you could call another phone and it will ring in that room and the person has to actually answer, the other option is you can just speak out loud into the other room like a typical intercom. The second option is Extremely helpful when someone needs instructions (without holding the phone and having to get to it and Actually pick it up to answer), to wake up a child that is not going to get up and answer a ringing phone, you can just holler it's time to get up or you going to be late, giving information when my husband has his hands full with the baby and I could just speak out loud to let him know where something was or an easier way to do what he is trying to do, telling someone something I forgot to tell them when sending them upstairs/downstairs, reminding your children of the instructions you originally gave before sending them to do a chore (just examples, I do have cameras in the house so I'm able to see when I need to say something) or someone is not near the phone and able to pick it up, invaluable in my home. I am really disappointed that that these options have been taken away. They are actually the original reason that I started purchasing these phones to begin with so long ago. Another option that is not available any longer is the ability to name each handset. This feature is crucial when you have numerous phones (we added more and have 8). On our previous phones we named each phone based on the room that they were located in so you could easily intercom the correct phone. These phones are simply labeled 1,2,3... So you have to try to remember what number phone is in a specific room, almost impossible for our children under 10 years old. Previously they could choose to intercom mom or kitchen when someone is upstairs/downstairs and simply needed to ask a question. Again features that should have Never been removed from the new models. I do like the phones new colors, they are vibrant. I am unfortunately going to be looking for a different system that has the 2 options that were removed. This is unfortunate to me because these phones have always been reliable and easy to use. The phones are great though if those 2 things are not a deal breaker for you.

Rogue Phone Base - Shuts Off all Handsets / Terrible Customer Service
This phone system started acting-up just after the Amazon return window (of course). The problem is the base would stop functioning on it's own and incapacitate the entire handset system. All 4 phones connected to this base said "NO LINE" when the base shut itself down. The first time, I thought it might be my cable provider, but it was not. This happened four (4) times over the course of 4 weeks. Only way to TEMPORARILY resolve the problem was to unplug the base unit, wait, then plug it back it. But alas, the unit with a mind of it's own, would shut down itself and all 4 handsets when it felt like not working. Worse was the customer service; I sent a detailed email to VTech through Amazon's website explaining the issue, steps I took, and that I would like a replacement (the unit was only 2 months old). They sent a canned email back to me telling me to unplug the unit, etc., etc., etc. The email further provided a return address and instructed me to make sure I sent it back either USPS or UPS at my cost and then once they received it, they would send a new or similar type unit. First, why should I have to pay return postage on a defective item VTech manufactured? Second, while they want me to fund the return and they don't ship a new phone until the old one is received, what am I supposed to do for telephone service for those couple of weeks? I wrote back to their reply and because it was clearly evident the entire phone system was defective, asked them to send me a prepaid postage lable. After two days of waiting for it, they sent an email back telling me, "Due to the nature of your concern, your request will need to be handled by a live representative." REALLY? Since I was not up to arguing with VTech anymore, I chose not to call them. I took alternative steps to resolve my issue. But I wanted other consumers to know; STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT. I am in my early sixties and have been a long-time VTech customer. VTech's product quality and customer care has all gone down the tubes. They won't care if I don't buy from them (one person), but if others heed the warning, maybe their revenue can take a dip from selling junk.
